Me!! very much too
I don't know why, but I've been a big fan of auscultation since I was very young. I would say since I was 5 years old.
I had the chance to auscultate for real a number of patients with different stethoscopes. The first time was 20 years ago, one of my ex-girlfriends. She was 24 years old. One evening she told me that her sister was studying medicine and that she had received a Littman stethoscope as a present for her 20th birthday.
She asked me if I had tried it; of course I was shaking with joy!
She was wearing a tight red T-Shirt. She lifted her shirt and I started listening to her lungs. I had difficulty hearing because it was the first time I put a stethoscope on my ears... She started to take deep breaths and there... miracle. What a wonderful sound... then she lay down on the floor. I could see her beautiful white skin and her heartbeat was visible to the eye!
I remember the sound of his heart perfectly. Fast and loud.
I had to listen for easily 15min. I think she liked it, but she never actually told me...
I remember checking out her abdomen too. It was very noisy. Especially around the belly button. Of course, we ate 1 hour before... She wanted to listen to her own noises, I have the impression that it was not the first time she used a stethoscope.
In the end, I spent 2 or 3 hours auscultating her, until my ears hurt :-)
Very very good memories!
