Poo is also a private activity for me. I just can't do that in front of another person, man or woman.

My wife says

- pooping (peeing is less private) and wiping after pooping

- removing a dirty tampon.

I read about some "reform schools" for under-age girls run by nuns in France in the 1950s, where part of the girls were imprisoned for being promiscuous.

It seemed that, at least in some of them, the nuns watched over bathroom use - no doors, and sometimes giving orders like "lift your skirt, pull down your panties, etc.". And of course, no touching down there unless for wiping and no looking. One woman reports that for years after that, at home, she still had the habit of not closing the door when using the toilet.

Apparently the nuns' goal was to prevent masturbation or other self-examination. Similarly, girls were expected to sleep on their back, hands above sheets and blankets.

Also, when changing dirty panties (every week, if I understand correctly, though girls were supposed to clean them summarily every night) the nuns would check for stains and shame the dirty girls.

I would have thought this all was fantasy, but it was discussed on radio with survivors, etc.

Yes @GyneDoll I think that is very important in a good marriage. Love goes in both directions between me and him. 🌹 We are a team, we do things for each other and both of us together too.

I'm curious about your comment. I'm a switch so enjoy both being dominant or submissive at various times. Regular pooping for me. I almost forgot. Picking my nose. I rarely do it. But even if I feel a tickle I got to the bathroom.

I gave this much thought and I guess what would send me over the top with embarasment would be the following. I am in a private office or attending a party and get a cramp that requires me to get to a adjoining bathroom. I have diarhea or cramps and move my bowels where people could hear the distress. I always fear that scenario of the odor or even clogging the toilet and getting assistance. That would really bother me. I would want to be alone in my home when that situation ever came up not with strangers

Oh, Ginnie. I hadn't even thought of those events, but clogging up someone's toilet or having a huge stinky BM in someone's bathroom certainly would head the list of embarrassing things to have happen. There are things that can occur in front of my husband, but when it comes to others it is a different matter entirely.

It would definitely have to be defecate in front of someone. Although, when I gave birth I shat in front of several doctors and pee’d. Including my then husband. Looking back I’m glad I have that memory. More so than being humiliated, it feels empowering.

Many years ago to earn some extra cash I worked as a waitress in a bar where they held striptease evenings.

It was very crowded with loud and leery men, mostly dockyard workers.

We had to wear a uniform of a black bodysuit, black or fishnet tights, and heels. Nothing else. The bodysuits were fairly skimpy and as you were in very close contact with the customers, usually with both hands full of meals or drinks, you were at their mercy. Although they were not supposed to touch you they often did.

I was absolutely petrified of either I hadn't tucked myself away properly after using the toilet, or that one of the men would touch me, or pull at the gusset of my bodysuit and reveal my secret. I honestly hate to think what would have happened.

I would have to say having a bm but changing a pad would be right up there too. Oddly though, the more humiliating and embarrassing it is, the wetter I become.

My former girlfriend was not too concerned about private activities around me or her family, like peeing and pooing, though she wanted privacy while using tampons or pads. To me it's the act of defecation as I am embarrassed by the smell and the grossness of excrement. It's not the type of thing I would advertise but its human.

I was in the hospital recently where I had to have them wipe me. They didn't seem to mind but I'd have a tough time doing that for someone else. The always went in from the back and wiped up. She did catch my wrinkle bag one time and pulled it back a bit. When she realized she had captured it she said “sorry”. I told her when you reach 80 they should just chop that off, all it does is get in the way.

When it happens to be a family member you're caring for, you get used to it pretty quick and it is no big deal!
