The only time I really ever heard of a guy being forced to be examined was when I was in my 20s. I worked for a major steel producing company in the traffic dept. I was hourly, but I worked with and for a salaried employee who had been with the company for many years.
In January of each year the salaried men were required to submit to an "Executive Physical". This was probably 35, 40 years ago, so there weren't MRIs, Scanners, etc. The salaried men were scheduled to have testing done at the Ford Hospital in downtown Detroit.
For 3 consecutive days, they had to appear at the hospital for various types of tests.
On day 1, for instance, they were given regular physical exams, BP, stethoscope chest, abdomen, etc.
On day 2: there was psychological testing.
On day 3: They met with a urologist. Genital exams, etc. Then they had to meet with a proctologist. There they were subjected to rigid sigmoidoscopies. (Before the flexible scope).
Unfortunately, one of the executives was (as the other guys called it) "goosey". He was totally paranoid about being examined rectally.
As it turned out, after the doctor and tech positioned him on the proctoscopic table,. the doctor proceeded to insert the scope into him. This guy just started yelling, and tryng to jump off the table, which by now was fairly far off the floor. Several male attendants were called in to try to restrain him. According to the story, in addition to trying to restrain him, the attendants were trying to calm him down, and also explain to him that he needed to let the exam continue, otherwise the company would have to reschedule him to have the procedure done at a later date, which would not please the company. Eventually the doctor was able to continue and complete the exam. His fellow executives were still all lined up on chairs in the hallway, dressed in exam gowns, waiting for their exams. I'm sure a few of them were freaking out, knowing that they would soon be on that table, and hoping that it wouldn't be as bad as this guy seemed to think it was. So, when the poor guy exited the procedure room, his face was red as a beet,he was sweating profusely, and they could also see that he had tears in his eyes!
I wasn't at the hospital when it happened, but, unfortunately guys will be guys, and this poor guy was teased mercilessly for weeks. His new nickname was "Goosey Gander". The worst part for him was that he knew he would be subjected to the same thing the next year.
