Vaginal temperature

Do Medical Doctors and especially Gynecologists (sometimes, often, never) take vaginal temperature during their exams?

And what about the suggestion of a lady I saw somewhere to insert a thermometer in her husband's penis (in the urethra to be precise)? Personnaly I would not like it so much.

I have heard such a thing, vaginal temperatures. I wonder if the doctor or nurse takes the temp in the beginning or at the end of the exam.

Do they have to hold the thermometer in the vagina in place. Do you have to pinch the lips or folds closed around the thermometer. how deep do they have to insert it for an accurate reading.

I have never heard of this.

I take vaginal temperatures after rectal and when I have her get on her back in the froggy leg position. I use a geratherm thermometer and push it all the way in and hold it as I have her make eye contact with me during the registration and while I ask her questions. Urethral temp are taken in many instances too.

Urethral would be risky - risking a UTI.

My girlfriend and I are rectal temperature fans and we take eachover's temperature every time we have sex.
