In the research that I've done over a lifetime, I've learned that fetishes usually develop over an attraction to certain objects. The objectification is often carried to an extreme that results in potentially unfavorable behaviors. They are often tied to some ultimate sexual stimulation or other mental health issues. In my case, enema and douche equipment are the crux of my “fetish” although some rubber/latex items can also trigger a reaction. My fetish is manageable and has not resulted in illegal or socially unacceptable behavior. In fact, I quite enjoy it as a hobby.

The associated paraphilia, often called “klismaphilia”, is usually described as an aberrant behavior or deviant behavior in psychology texts. Some paraphilias are actually illegal and result in very negative consequences for practitioners. My use and enjoyment of enemas is neither illegal nor likely to bring harm to someone else. In fact, people of a like mind or attraction can practice this paraphilia without fear of running afoul of legal or social norms. That is, of course, assuming that each participant consents and the activities are not likely harmful or dangerous. This is where moderation and safe, sane use is practiced.

As others have indicated, lumping all into an exclusive group doesn't recognize the nuances that are often involved. It certainly hasn't allowed the “professionals” to treat individuals who may desire to overcome their attractions. Aversion therapy would likely never eliminate my love of a good enema or those beautiful pieces of equipment, especially the vintage items from my upbringing. Besides, why would I ever want to?

BTW…I carry on an otherwise normal, healthy, and professional lifestyle!

Oh Yes, mine certainly was caused by, during my childhood. When I was a kid didn't ward in a large children's hospital we wore a wrist cuff on our right hand. This was my four laws about restraints and seclusion and shots and all that. If you acted up they would cuff your hand to a rail on the front of the nurses station and sit on this bench so they were happy. You still wouldn't calm down and get a shot... If they couldn't restrain you or give you a shot anymore for the day they put you in isolation which were padded closets like 4x8.

I love the medical restraints, like I wouldn't lay down on the table to have an EEG when I was having a seizure so they restrained me.

This has continued through my adult life too.

I got a gown, slipper, sock and disposable underwear fetish because I was on isolation or quiet room for a week and I'm a hypersexual, so the only thing I had to jack off to was those three things and i and being locked in a room. Now, Accused murderer Brian Kohberger has a lot of admirers on Reddit who want to send him gifts and money.
