I have seen EKG machines new/used which are put for sale...

If visual + audible heart sound is your fetish, there are few other tools which you can use.

Electronic watch / apple watch has rhythm monitor which can be viewed.

Heart beat ultrasound / vascular Doppler will give you audible sound..

If you have full Ultrasound machine, you can look at heart too . This one's expensive. Especially good portable one

Not the same as full EKG, but a good alternative..

I think that I started to be interested in ECG tests a year or two ago. I bought a used ECG machine about half a year ago for about 120$. At that point, I also started reading articles about reading an ECG to see if my heart was working properly. After the first few ECG recordings, I found no abnormalities.

Red marks from the ekg electrodes are a huge turn on for me too! Both seeing them on me and other people. One time i went to a cardiologist with a friend of mine for a school certificate. After we were finished, i asked him if the suction cups left red marks on his chest and he showed it to me. Very hot

I'm not "into" EKG's, but my cardiologist had one administered last year during my annual checkup. The test, itself, took about seconds and hookup and unhook another 30 seconds. Less than a minute all told, for what looked like an 8" long piece of graph paper with indecipherable (to me, anyway) squiggles.

I almost had my third heart attack when the EOB (Explanation of Benefits) from the insurance company arrived. They were billed a little of $5,000.00!! They paid just over $500 and my share was $5.00. There is something drastically wrong when a 45 second procedure is billed like that.

The payment isn't for 45 seconds to record a tracing. It's for the 10 years of medical training to know how to interpret it, the knowledge of what to do with what you diagnose, and the liability coverage if you make an error.

I checked the cost of an electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) in Kyiv, Ukraine - typical cost is around ₴280 UAH (roughly US$6.60), that incudes the EKG reading, a written report from a cardiologist and an in-person brief visit with the cardiologist to explain the results. If you need an English speaking cardiologist the costs are much, much higher - ₴1,400 UAH (roughly US$33). The prices are up somewhat since the start of the Russian war. Prices vary some by office; and many places (clinics and hospitals) offer discounts during off-peak hours like Sunday morning. Specialist physicians in Ukraine often have done training in Western Europe, especially Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Physicians in Ukraine are well paid by Ukrainian standards, often earning over US$500 per month. Tell an American physician about the amazing earning potential they would have in Ukraine.

I had a few ecg exams as a boy at our pediatrician. I liked them, being in my underwear or some shorts and being wired up was cool. I had two as an adult, one for an insurance company on an ergometer and one as a follow up to my draft exam.

I would love to be hooked up to an ecg and eeg and a Penile plethysmography or phallometry device and then be subjected to arousing imagery and tested for my sexual orientation and preferences in great detail.

Interesting. Did you have any heart problems or were they done routinely?

I did have some minor cardiac diagnosis as a baby but without any implications for my adult life. but I think these were follow up checks when I had my regular development physicals. I remember that the room was also used for vaccinations. so years later, I must have been 16, I stepped into a nail and my mom quickly took me to our pediatrician to get a tetanus shot. So I ended up in that room again and deep down craved to be hooked up to that machine. I found it fascinating how it produced this long chart of my heart beat.

That's just plain BS, and as long as people believe it, health care costs in the US will continue to outpace the quality. Billing $5K and accepting a tenth of that is ample evidence of the greed. I like my cardiologist and trust him with my life, but he's part of the largest provider in the area who does the billing. The CEO made $5 MILLION last year.

In my 45 years in the electrical trades, when I worked as a contractor, I billed for the job, not my experience or training.

I've had dozens of EKG's and none were any big deal. They're over in seconds. But I wish I had witnessed my wife having hers. Ladies, do you strip to the waist like us men and show your boobies to the Tech? My wife would never tell me.

Thanks. I didn't want to answer because i don't know what would be considered political. But certainly, this billing is for the profit oriented health industry. In my country, a private cardiologist visit costs 30-50€ (or more if it's a fancy doctor) and an ekg is absolutely included.
