For me, I find it’s just about like @Sean describes. I’ve used latex DBC’s for all my large enemas (usually 3-4 quarts and even once up to 5 qts) and even some smaller ones for many years, starting with my original 2 DBC purchases from Beth Tyler (I think sometime in the mid-late ‘90’s).
Even using an ingenious device like a DBC, specifically designed to help you retain enema water or solutions without leaking, in my experience you still need to do it with some care to insert, seat, and inflate it optimally for use in your own rectum. I inflate the inner balloon somewhat more now than when I first started using them as I had a couple of them pop out or come out by themselves just after sitting down on the commode seat before I had deflated and started pulling them out.
I never even think about deflating and removing a DBC anytime before sitting on the commode seat. Just as @Sean notes in #6 below
.
Double balloon nozzles are intended to help you retain enema solution, even though your bowel contractions are trying very hard to expel the enema…. to state the obvious.
Hence it is unrealistic to use one, take an enema, and expect to remove the nozzle and walk to the toilet without leaking.
Put bluntly, when the nozzle comes out, you're going to start pooing at once. You should be prepared for this. It's going to happen.
When I first used DBC’s I was still only using 2.5-3 quart enemas for many years, but I still enjoyed long ~30-60 minute retention times, even back then just to enjoy the internal pressure, water movements and distention.
My then wife, as my Switch Domme from about 2005-2009, used to give me 3-4 quart enemas and make me hold them for her for 3-4 hours, perfectly fine with the DBC she put into me first. After finding and reading Zity 7+ years ago, I gradually increased my solo volume to 4 quarts (with one single enema of 5 quarts once) which my DBC helps me hold easily for at least an hour.
Sometimes during my 4-4.5 quart holds, it‘s been so enjoyable and comfortable that I’ve fallen asleep which extended my hold even longer than I planned, still with no leaks from my DBC.
