I have used tampons anally since i was a child. (I'm 58 now) I love them, but use one at a time, push them quite far up, and just forget about them. It's a mental thing knowing it's up there. I'm guessing, but I'd be close to say I've used a couple thousand of them. If I can I'd like to comment on a couple of things that come up over, and over on the subject.
- The string is not going to break, or come off. Jeez, take one out of the applicator and try sometime.
- They absolutely will not get stuck. Wether it's dry, or up slightly into the colon, a simple pull on the string will get it out. I think the stuck tampon thing was invented by people who have never tried. Women, at the end of their period, sometimes feel like it's stuck, and can be uncomfortable to remove. no doubt the genesis of THAT falsehood.
- You can get toxic shock from a tampon in your butt. At the same rate women do from using them vaginally- the risk is almost non-existant if you change it every eight hours. You can get toxic shock from anything that carries the bacteria.
To use them- Buy some super plus with a plastic applicator. Paper ones suck. Tampax pearl have a nylon string that feels like it's cutting you, they suck too. Put some lube on you finger and lube the opening and an inch or two up your ass. Lube the tampon a bit, but not down by the grip, or it will be hard to hold onto. Hold the grip, and slide it into your butt till your fingers touch. Push in the plunger. This would put it exactly in the right place in a vagina, but in your ass it's not far enough up. Lube up your finger, and push it further in.
