I would have figured out some way to have bought such a wonderful treasure. Sub enjoys using his jbl bag.

I did; however, too, I will make a long story ~ short...
In the early to mid 80s, my former wife and I were in Death Valley, Ca. On the north end of the valley, we came upon old communities that were former gold mining towns from the turn of the century. The most memorable was a place known as the Bottle House, which was a home built out of beer bottles... It's in Rhyolite, Nevada, and you can google it to see pictures, and learn about its history..
When we visited the Bottle House, it was a museum of sorts. As I looked around, on the wall was an original JBL Cascade. I didn't know what it was when I first laid eyes on it, cept the qualified fact that it was an enema bag, dusty and old. It had a leather exterior, on cloth, molded onto a rubber interior. It got awfully confusing for me real quick, as I knew that I had a find, probably from the turn of the century when the mining town had been active.
Ultimately, I purchased it for $50.00, maybe more. Twas terribly trying, but I was not driving away until I owned it. And, obviously, there were no computers at that time wherein I could go and google my find, to get some history. It was there, and it was going to be mine b4 the afternoon was over. I didn't put up much of a fight in the negotiation, and all was said an done that afternoon. Driving on, I was in possession of a true relic of the past, with the original JBL embossed stamp.
Now ~ the sad part. In the late 90s, and as some of you know, I lived in San Francisco. One night I was going to a play party, as I had accepted the responsibility to be a DM, dungeon master, for an hour shift. I wasn't feeling that good, however, I had committed to attend the party and supervise play for the hour. In the event I felt better, and gf was going to meet me there, I took two toy bags. One was medical, and the other was leather. I left them in the car because I didn't really go with the intent to play, and gf was coming back to my home that evening. I went to the party for my hour gig, gf was there, I did my stint in the play area, and we decided to go back to my house. I really wasn't feeling that great.
As we walked up to the Jeep, I noticed glass on the sidewalk, and then I looked at the rear door window that wasn't there. Then I looked inside, and my two toy bays were gone too... I truely felt violated; twas terrible!!! I looked all around, for the crooks could not have been after the contents of those toy bags; and, I felt for sure that once they saw there were no 'every day valuables', that they would dump the merchandise. But, they were no where to be found, not even in dumpsters that we came upon. I called the police; they would not come out to take a report. S F is a rough town, and they don't visit the sick.
Back at the car, I noticed a card stuck in the driver's door; it advertised a club that was not where it was supposed to be. I noticed all the cars on the street had the same card stuck in one of the doors between the class and the weather stripping. Finally I realized that they cased the cars when placing the advertisement in the window, and what was inside as they left the calling card. When they found a car with something inside, they smashed and grabbed the goods. We will not talk about the rest of my evening. There were items in those toy bags that could not be replaced... !@#$%^&*(
But, I do have fond memories of my JBL from the turn of the century, and will always remember it affectionately, and with a warm heart…
Now ~ go out and make it a gr8 evening!
