In elementary school we had medical examinations every year. 7-8 boys would be in the room, the doctor would tell us to take off our shirts, but our pants remained. The examination included an examination of weight and height, throat, spine and, for me, the worst - auscultation of the heart and measurement of blood pressure.
My heart would beat very fast during those examinations. The doctor would always ask me "Why is your heart beating so fast and so hard? You are a young boy, this is a very fast beating for your young heart". That was really embarrassing for me cus my friends were in and were listening everything.
I remember one examination when the doctor listened to the hearts of all boys before me for 10-15 seconds, and then it was my turn. I stood in front of her and felt my heart beat abnormally fast, I even looked down and saw my chest moving. The doctor had never done that to a any boy before me, but for no reason she put her hand on my left chest, right over my heart.
After a few seconds she said, "Your heart is going to jump out of your chest! I am going to listen your heart, but I think this is tachycardia!"
I was young and I didn't even know what it was. Then the doctor took a stethoscope and put it right under my left nipple and took her watch, took my heart rate for a minute. she didn't do that to boys before me either.
She finished the measurement and said: "Your heart is beating very fast, as if you've been running non-stop for half an hour, your heart rate is over 150 and that is very bad for your young heart". All boys in the room watched and listened to all this, which made the situation very uncomfortable for me. They asked me later what’s wrong with my heart, but I said them that my heart is healthy, as it is.
Afterwards, she measured my blood pressure, which was also high.
At all examinations at school, and even today, my heart beats fast and hard, but at that examination it was really fast and hard.
