I tried a catnip enema and my experience was NOT GOOD AT ALL!! Maybe I did it wrong but I offer my experience as a warning and I'd like to hear from others who have had a positive experience and how they prepared it and took it to see where I may have gone wrong. Here is what I did.
Bought a box of "Catnip Leaf & Blossom" tea BAGS. On the box it says "Certified organic"
As per the instructions I let 4 bags seep in a 2 quart coffee pot full of hot tap water for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, I squeezed the bags repeatedly to pump out as much of the catnip as possible. This action caused some of the bags to leak out the leaves into the water which I thought was no big deal.
I will agree that the catnip enema was VERY easy to hold to the point where I was amazed at how little discomfort I felt. I held it for about 20 mins and then released and here is where my experience turns sour.
It took forever to get all the water out and for the next 3 hours I was making repeated trips to the bathroom to empty out just a few ounces at a time. I took a probiotic immediately after this enema as I had done a few to prepare for it, along with some yogurt. I didn't do any rinse enemas since it thought "hey, it's catnip. What harm can it do?"
About 4 hours later I met a friend for dinner and we had wings and beer and that was my night.
At about 4am I woke up with terrible stomach cramps and bloating and rushed to the bathroom. I spent about 45 minutes on the throne expelling gas and a yellowish crud with some tea leaves in the mix. For the next 24 hours I was making frequent trips to the bathroom and a full 24 hours later I'm now doing some salt and baking soda enemas to try and rinse out all the catnip.
So what went wrong? I don't think it's the wings and beer but more the fact that I left the catnip leaves in the solution. All I know is that this recipe is way more trouble than it is worth.
