I am familiar with what I call "red rubber" colon tubes. My favorite is a 48" 36fr I have had for many years. They are still available. Initially it was too stiff, meaning not very flexible but I soaked it in mineral oil and Vasoline and heated it in same until it became more flexible.
It is getting old and will have to be replaced. I note that now there are silicone colon tubes available in the same sizes as the red rubber ones. Do any of you have experience with the silicone ones. Are they flexible and comparable at the same fr. size? Would you get the same effect with a 34 or 28fr? The smaller diameters in the red rubber colon tubes tend to easily double back and are difficult to insert the entire length. What about silicone? It is all about finding one that will go all the way up without doubling back but at the same time not being too inflexible so that there is risk of penetrating the colon wall. We want to be safe and comfortable while having fun.
Bottom line: In silicone what diameter works best in the very long tubes?
