A few years ago , my doctor suggested that I take my blood pressure at those BP machines found in drugstores and grocery store pharmacies just as a way of keeping track between my yearly physicals. So I've been doing this about once a month at my local grocery store (Kroger).
The BP machine sits right opposite the pharmacy counter and the aisle that contains all the gastro medicines : laxatives, diarrhea medicines, fiber supplements , gas pills, and of course fleet enemas, both the store generic type and the fleet name brand .
Over the years, as I sat and took my blood pressure, I've seen many people peruse that section of the shelves, sometimes just looking or comparing various items. Sometimes they've taken an item up to the pharmacy counter to ask advice and sometimes just take an item off the shelf and put it in their grocery basket.
This past Sunday when I sat down to take my BP, I looked over at the shelves and was startled to see the section where the fleet enemas usually were was totally EMPTY. I kind of did a double take and looked around the shelves to see if they had been moved. Nope, just two empty sections of the shelf.
All the years I've been doing this, never has that section of the shelf been empty.
Now I don't know if this is an indication that "enemas are the new In Thing", but it sure says something about the use of fleet type enemas nowadays.
Being curious and the klismo that I am, I went back two days later just to check out the shelf and the store brand generic fleet type enema was stocked , but the Fleet brand space was still empty.
Oh, and by the way, my BP was fine ...LOL
