I've never heard of a pregnant woman being advised not to take enemas. In fact, just the opposite. Constipation is common in pregnancy, and I have always heard (I have no clinical knowledge to back this up though) that enemas are safer than taking oral laxatives. I admit I'm biased, because I HATE laxatives.
I really needed enemas when I was pregnant, but my husband at the time wouldn't allow it, blah, blah we all know that story, so I drank alot of prune juice and various herbal teas.
I have some thoughts on the depression aspect too.
I wonder if for those of us who are truly enema fetishists, if giving up enemas wouldn't be akin to giving up the majority of our sexuality.
I have several close friends who are gay, and due to the atmosphere in which we were raised, they were in denial about it for years. One man even married and had a child. He suffered depression so severely he was institutionalized.
My point is, humans are sexual creatures, and it seems denying what our brains and bodies are hardwired to do could lead to depression. Like being forced to live a straight lifestyle if you're gay, or getting only vanilla sex if you're kinky, or in our case, giving up enemas.
