I do remember seeing this camp listed, thought it was a joke. The port-o-potties can have lines and be a bit gross so i thought this is last thing people would do.
Have you ever thought about getting funding from the BMORG? Or perhaps see how much they want for your own set of port-o-potties?
I think it is about $250 each for the event.
The playa is an amazing place, My first year was 97, and over 10 years later i can recall parts of it like it was yesterday - the sunset after the rain, the sound the of people cheering, screaming laughing, hugging each other and crying at a spectacular sunset, the way the noise went from one end of camp to the other as the sun fell behind the mountains.
Other years, wandering about the playa at dawn, finding art that is not on the map. The intense friendship made in the matter on moments. Walking in to david best's tempel of tears/sadness and feeling the intense sadness and pain, and yet so catharjic at the same time. Just reading what others had written made me cry without embarrassment in front of others.
Chasing dust devils on my bike across the open playa, dancing till dawn at the rave camps, then as walking back to camp with sky becoming light with some one playing the end music from close encounter of the 3rd kind.
Sitting around in the 100+ heat in the shade with camp mates and new friends, then have a complete stranger come up and offer fresh fruit, or maybe just a hug.
Yes the playa is an amazing place. Perhaps i'll stop by next year and say hello.
