My father was greatly influenced by the verve and enthusiasm of president John F Kennedy. Kennedy, as I was told by my father, in his speeches, described doing things with great "vigor" and that way of life was imparted to me by my parents, especially my father.

VIGOR
noun
they ran with great vigor: robustness, health, hardiness, strength, sturdiness, toughness; bloom, radiance, energy, life, vitality, virility, verve, spirit; zeal, passion, determination, dynamism, zest, pep, drive, force; informal oomph, get-up-and-go, zing, piss and vinegar.
----------------------
I do things with vigor. Waking up in the morning, taking a shower, cooking breakfast, getting the family dressed and out of the house to start the day, masturbating, playing the flute, sculpting, having an enema, cleaning the house, fucking my husband, tying him up, being spanked-sometimes hard, going shopping [ok that's a female cliche], watching tv, playing tennis, seeing a show, going to the opera, etc.
YOU get to decide how you feel when you do something. It doesn't matter who you do it with or if you do it alone.
You might as well decide to have good feelings about what you do.
