I just saw an episode of Discovery Channel's show Man vs. Wild where Bear Grylls, on camera, took an enema with water he had recovered from a barren rocky outcrop off of the western coast of Panama. The water came from a small pool under a rock overhang, which was full of bird excrement and plant debris. He was floating on a makeshift raft in the middle of the sea, teaching sea survival skills. He told of a story where a family was adrift on a similar raft, with no drinking water supplies, and the mother, a trained nurse, kept her family alive by giving them enemas with the water they had gathered in a small pool, which they couldn't drink because it was contaminated with turtle remains and blood.Has anyone else seen that episode? Unbelievable, but that was the craziest suggestion I have EVER heard of for an enema.
