Home made restraints

Its amazing how diy stores can be used to get thnigs to make restraints , i recentley went in to a well know one and made a set of restraints for my bed . i managed to get welded chains clips and a set of pad locks so i can be locked in bed with out any hope of escape whisch is what its all about !!

The best places for BDSM toys and restraints for the do it yourselfer are West Marine, Home Depot/Lowes, hardware stores, pet supply stores and supermarkets. Marine stores have wonderful hardware in stainless steel and bronze that works really smoothly for a lifetime.

We bought a towel rail (which was in the "clearance bin") and a couple of carabiners at the local B&Q... pinched the ends of the towel rail to be flat and drilled a hole through the middle of the flattened area. The carabiners were attached and after a bit of filing and smoothing, we now have a spreader bar!

Way back a long time ago I used to use the anti-static wrist straps... they have a well sprung alligator clip at one end. I'd attach a clip to each nipple and hang various weights from them using the attached length of strap (that would normally be fastened around your wrist if you were using it properly).

I recently bought 4 dog leads from a local thrift store... they provide a great under-mattress set of restraints - and they have clips at the ends to attach to ankle/wrist/neck cuffs too!

Found some nylon dog collars(in medium and large dog size) that are used for restraints. The collars have a plastic clasp that "clicks" nicely when closed. They can be released with one hand if needed. The medium sized collars(which are sized for subs wrists and ankles depending which they are) are hanging on our metal headboard below the mattress. The large collars are attached to a rope that goes under the end of the mattress. They are easily gotten out by fishing under the mattress. DIY can be a creative way to make some restraints. But please remember to play safely.

Thick-walled pipe, about 3/4 or 1 inch size, also easily makes a great spreader bar. Real easy to cut to the length you want, then drill the appropriate size hole about a 1/2 inch or so from the end, you could put the combiners in, or an 'eye' bolt.

Try to make certain all restraints can be self-releasable. If one person has a heart attack and the other one is bound and gagged then both may die. This happened in my neighborhood.

Home depot is a great place to let your imagination go wild and think bondage......

Funny, I came across this posting as I just returned from shopping at my favorite "toy store" ....Home Depot. Bought a set of Irwin brand Qick Grip clamps for $24. This set is great as not only will it work well with my woodworking, but also a real nice set of very easy to use and release clamps that all have non-marking neoprene clamp ends. Perfect to use as impromptu Bondage clamps that hold very securely and won't mark the table, bed, door frames or anything else you may need to be bound to. They would be real easy to use with rope, tie down straps etc for your bondage needs! Happy fantasies !!

Almost all of our bondage equipment are bought at the hardware store. Luggage straps make perfect "under the bed" or bedpost restraints.

I have thought of this many times: If you combine certain items from a hadware store that are nothing special by themselves, it can be very kinky, to the level where "normal" people will notice when you are at the cash register :-)

I have made some awesome nipple clips with the alligator clips found at Radio Shack.

I've bought some chain at a craft store attached it to the alligator clips and even used some screws to make them adjustable.

Don't know if I have saved a lot of money, but I have just the size and bite I want.

I'm sure everyone here agrees that there is real pleasure in having made your kinky equipment yourself.

I made a straitjacket. I used a x large sweat shirt tied a rope about 4ft long to each sleeve put it on crossed my arms and trou the rope over my head and around my back.

Automobile clothes hanger at wally world makes a great $10 spreader bar. Drill a few holes and add a bolt to adjust the length.

B&Q in the uk do a huge range of different types of rope as well as chain

I found this goodie at the hardware store. Wrap-Tyte ties are double sided 1/2 inch wide and 12" long, used for tying hoses, cable electric cords. There's a slot to form a loop and a tab on the slot holds the loop close.

Wrap it tightly around the top of the scrotum or just behind the glans and the sub can now be controlled by the genitals. I like to use it wrapped around the scrotum a couple times to form a band tie. Now the scrotum and contents are protruding forward. They may be 'disciplined' as is or subject to additional restraints such a rope & noose.

I've been in to playing with my scrotum lately and have tried different ways to bind it. Waxed rope seems to work the best. I bought a length to replace the starter rope on my snow blower. The slippery coating works great for binding because the rope easily slides against itself and binds tightly without pinching. It releases easier too.

I tried cable ties but they're too narrow and the inside edge is too sharp to be comfortable. It actually cut in to my skin when pulled tightly. Getting the cable tie off wasn't easy either. The only way to get them off is to cut them. If it's really tight getting a side cutter under it is not all that easy. Then I had to make damn sure there was no skin between the jaws of the side cutter when I made the cut.

I want to try something like an animal collar. It doesn't have to be that tight. For fantasy play I want to be able to attach a leash. I'll go to Farm & Fleet or a pet store and see if something like a kitten collar will do the job.

Anybody got any suggestions?

More on scrotal tying: The Wrap Tyte cable ties are actually soft nylon velcro, so they're easily applied & easy off. No cutting needed. Being 1/2 inch wide they aren't painful to wear. Further one can use more than one. Pull the balls down and there can be space for 3. Other things I've tried: Dog and cat collars are fun. They already have a Dee ring for a leash attachment. Try different widths and materials. leather and nylon don't feel the same. You'll need to drill or punch and extra hole or two in leather, and use a hot nail to make holes in nylon. The thrift store sometimes has narrow leather belts. Add a dee ring so a chain can be attached for pulling.

I like 3/8" soft polyester rope for genital tying. The "Bottle Knot" can be used around the top of the scrotum to constrict it, and trap the balls. Four strands of the rope protrude and can be used to advantage for pulling the balls. Use Google to learn how to tie this knot.

My gf wants me to tie her up, this will he a first for both of us. I made some Home made velcro straps for her wrists and ankles. I will pick up some rope. I plan to tease and tickle but still need more advise or just point me where and what to read. We have arranged for Monday do I need to learn quick. Any thing rode I should bring?

If your really in a pinch, you can always use an electrical extension cord.

Farm and ranch stores are great also. Lots of leather strapping in various widths. I have made leather cuffs, floggers, etc for a fraction of the ost of new ones

Very Cheap leather restraints: I go to Goodwill/Salvation Army stores and get $1 belts, picking ones with good leather. I cut to length for wrist, ankle, waist leg restraints, and drill holes for the buckles. I drill holes for dee rings to which I can attach chains, ropes or straps. I almost always play by myself, I use large carabiners to attach chains for easy on and off.

Scrotal tying. Yes, I've done it, but not with a partner, only in solitary play. I dont fool around too long in this position, because it seems to restrict blood flow to the sack, and definitely cools it down.

I tie my sack off above the testicles, using the heavy rubber band that supermarkets use to wrap celery.

I've mainly used Ribbons that I got in a sample bag of them from Walmart I think. Each ribbon is 2 feet long and vary in sizes making things quite interesting.

I like buying the large 1 1/2" wooden dowels from Lowes or HD. Cut to various lengths, 12", 24", and 36". I sand them til they are very smooth, then take my trusty drill and drill a hole in each end and also two hole in the center of the 24" and 36" I then sand the areas over and around the holes. Then is time to stain each dowel, either walnut, cherry or red oak. When stain is dry, take an end cap, run an eye bolt though it and screw into the end of each the dowels. Finally, place an eyebolt with an acorn cap in the two center two holes of the 24" and 36". This will allow the center eyebolts to swivel. You now have 3 spreader bars. You can always cut the he dowels to whatever length that you want. I have not had one break yet.

I have a friend that uses nylon bones from the pet supply store and will drill a hole in each end. He then puts an O ring through each hole. He will take leather strips, runs an end through each O ring and secure them with grommets.Last of all, he attaches snaps to hold the two ends secure around the neck or back of head. They stay in place very nicely due to the way the bone fits into the mouth.

You can buy descent riding crops of various sizes at Tractor Supply.

Also, wine bags that are made of more natural fabrics make great paddle covers for protecting leather paddles. Allows the leather to breath and it doesn't get scratched up. I carry crops, canes and paddles around in a bag made for carrying yoga mats or use an art / document tube that has a strap for carrying over your shoulder. Very handy!

For scrotal tying, use the very long flat shoe strings. Flat stings less than round shoe strings. Don't tie the string so tight that they(balls) start getting cool. This can cause long-term damage!

Those are some awesome ideas, I like using the long velcro strips. they are very strong and save alot of time. :-)

I've bought lots of chain and padlocks from the DIY store. Combined with some eye bolts screwed into the floor makes for some great self bondage.

I've also made some fairly industrial enema equipment with stuff from the plumbing department.

DIY is definitely the way to go.

I was at a West Marine store a couple of years ago getting some "line" [that's what boaters call "rope," and spent a lot of time pondering which ones I wanted because they had a variety of colors, patterns, diameters and stiffness. The male salesman and female trainee were watching me and finally came over and asked what I was tying up. I smiled and said "MY HUSBAND." I have a set of matching pink dog collars, one really large one for my neck, couple of small ones for my hands, and two medium for my ankles or thighs. The medium ones can be snapped together to go around my waist as well so that the hand cuffs can be hooked to it. Plus the matching pink leash. All from Wally World and the hooks from the hardware store.

Now if I could just find someone to play with....
