Surgical apparel in non-bulk quantities

I'm not sure if this is a problem for everyone else, but I'm having some trouble buying things like boot covers and surgical hoods in quantities that are not a box with 3 cases with 500 in each case that cost US$200. I'd rather buy them in quantities of 25 or 50. 500 is like a ten year supply for me.

Does anyone know a good source of places that ship to the US that sell things like surgical hoods and boot covers in small quantities? I can find places that sell gowns in single-digit quantites, but everything else seems somewhat elusive. The hoods also seem to be hard to find as popular as they seem to be in operating rooms, since I could only find two brands and about 4 or 5 online stores, all selling them in bulk (minus some shady listing on ebay).

I've actually gone there a few times already, but things like the boot covers still come in a multi-case box that costs $140.

Go to Amazon.com. You get smaller quantities of what you are looking for.

I am on Amazon again and I see 100 surgical hoods for $39.99. This seems pretty cheap to me. I don't know what I would do with a 100 but the price is good.

There are just some stuff that is not going to come in smaller quantities. I still have the 500 tongue depressor box that I bought 15 years ago.

Other than hospitals, who else needs surgical hoods. I guess if you were a house or car painter, they might come in handy.

If there isn't a store out there, you could be the first one. I am sure there others out there who only need a couple.

It seems like the shoe covers sell for a lot cheaper than the boot covers, which is odd because the price increases 4x for that piece of material going over the ankles and shins.

I think I saw the surgical hoods too, but some of the listings don't have a picture (I've seen different pictures for the same product between some websites too) so I couldn't be sure whether or not it's the same item as what I imagined. You can say that I'm trying to create a costume so appearance is kind of important.

Seems like you're right with some things not coming in smaller quantities though. Perhaps I can resell the extras on ebay or craigslist. I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't some store that I didn't know about.

I would actually do that, but unfortunately it would be very inconvenient under my current living situation. Definitely an option in the future though.

Amazon is great for that kind of stuff. You may also check on Ebay. They have a lot of fun things on there and not necessarily in bulk. Usually reasonable prices, too, if you can find a good seller.

It definitely is a problem because only some cities have places where hospitals are supplied and then you usually have to have someone allow you to purchase.
