Does it matter how fast the flow is, is there any relationship between this and then being able to retain it for a period of time. Are you able to get a greater volume if you use a smaller nozzle?
Low and slow, generally on my back with hips on a pillow
It really depends on what it’s for, my mood, and position. I generally prefer a slow flow when I’m laying on my back in bed an a faster flow when I’m in the knee chest position in the bathroom.
I like my enemas very slow. I have SNC Model B which after insertion I let my body get used to it then I start the flow. I have a flow indicator and I set it to moves very slow. Rub the belly and lay on my right side and enjoy the ride. At the end I leave the nozzle in and relax and let it work.
So actually both. Use faster flow rate with initial enemas to get the lower areas cleaned out. Then I’ll lower the bag to slow the flow so I can try and take more . I definitely h have to get either a large catheter or double ballon nozzle to get larger volume in again. my 30 fr catheter with 30 cc ballon broke quit awhile ago and I haven’t bought another since my hernia surgery last year
A good enema needs to be savored, which to me means taken slowly. I seldom cramp and that extra time gives it ample opportunity to work. It is not uncommon for me to take 5 or 6 minutes for a quart. My normal volume is about 1.5 quarts so I spend about 10 minutes before the can empties. Then it's another 5 minutes of just lying there allowing it to work.
Definitely slow. A nice warm relaxing enema is something to be savored.
Depends on the situation
The first one I like to have it fast, It’s only purpose is a clean out. After that I like long slow fill I like to call a soaker. Let my body feel what I have put in it. Rather peppermint or something else.
Both, it depends on the mood of my colon. I always start out slowly and increase the speed, it also depends on the nozzle I’m using. Sometimes I’ll do the entire enema slowly, other times I’ll increase the speed to full flow, especially when I’m in the knee chest position.
I love Emom’s description (395), because giving myself an enema admittedly has been a “time away“ when I gave myself permission to savor the sensations of doing a slow cleanse that I needed medically — and which often gave me an emotional lift as well.
I love giving a slow, relaxing and filling enema. Taking the time for as large a filling my partner can take and hold for as long as possible to give a good cleansing. Constantly softly talking to them, giving encouragement while gently rubbing their belly to aid in the admission.
Definitely slower, nice relaxing fill with coffee, salt and baking soda. Sometimes adding a little wine 🍷, so nice to feel the warm filling. Be safe and chaotic upcoming holidays. Cold weather is coming, best to take warm enemas to stay warm :-)
Slow is nice but sometimes faster is fun too. The “flume zoom” of a wine enema is quite a rush.❤
Fast for first one then lube nozzle with Vicks and slowly take peppermint soap in. Mmmm
