See 'What are we doing' on 18 Jan., written in anticipation of a great enema session. I wasn't disappointed, and things worked out pretty much as planned.
I nipped down to the beach and collected 6 litres of seawater. At this time of year it doesn't even need warming for an enema - it's already over 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit). As I told then, I had already filled my colon with about a litre and a half of stiff psyllium husk gel which I couldn't expel. You see, psyllium husk is both coherent and adherent. It sticks together, and it sticks to the colon wall, where it absorbs any free liquid and also seems to dry out the natural mucus that otherwise lubricates the passage of shit through the system. So you can bear down, but if you do manage to get a little out of the anus, it will be very wide and it won't fall off. It just hangs there, and the effort to get more out may be more than you can make. If you grab it by hand and pull, it stretches like bubble gum and then breaks off, leaving most of it still inside you. Believe me, this is a Frankenturd! But let a little water in round the edges and it becomes very slippery indeed!
So I let in about half a litre of seawater and then lay on my back in the tub to work my colon tube into myself. It seems to work better if I'm on my back, because then the colon is uppermost in my middle and the colon tube is easier to get in.
The tube obliged nicely, sliding up past the huge mass of gel in my colon. I could feel its progress with my fingers! When I had about 600 mm into me, I slid the inflatable cuff up along the tube and into my anus. The insertable length of the cuff is about 150 mm long (6") and it's about 38 mm diameter when flaccid (1.5"). When I had it in, I attached the bike pump I use for inflating, and gave it twenty strokes (about 900 ml). This is so big and hard in my rectum that leakage is not even a possibility. Inflating it felt just wonderful, and I did it slowly to savour it and to let my rectum accommodate this bulging invader!
Then I started the flow of seawater again. I got far more in than I thought I would - about four litres. It went in without any cramping, as the business end of the colon tube was right up in the transverse colon. And I held it for thirteen minutes, with cramps starting after about six. I looked like a pot bellied Vietnamese pig in the mirror!
Expulsion was nice. I did it in the tub. With a huge effort, I explled the inflatable cuff without first deflating it; and, as expected, the colon tube didn't rush out after it. The cuff just moved 50 mm or so (an inch or two) out of me and sat there. I should explain that my colon tube is 42 Fr silicone, and I have a tear drop shaped custom tip on it about 20 mm across and perhaps 30 long ahead of the side delivery hole in the tube. This helps it get around awkward bends in the colon on its way in, but also means that if there is shit (or in this case artificial shit) between it and the outside world, it tends to get stuck. I tugged on it and it glided out (nice feeling!), followed by a little water. Then nothing! I had expected that and just waited.
Eventually cramps began to build inside me. With a finger I could feel that the tip of the psyllium had moved down into my rectum. Finally with an internal convulsion, one enormous artificial turd slithered out into the tub. The visual effect of this monster was stunning - possibly 75 mm effective diameter at its widest and over 300 mm long, kinked about 1/3 of its length where it had rested acros the flap between descending colon and rectum. It was an evil sort of dark khaki colour, very sinister! The rest of the expulsion was slow - about four more waves of shit and water, and quite hard work.
I followed this up with a distention rinse enema of seawater diluted to one sixth strength - probably just under 8 litres, but I didn't measure it accurately. I just filled by 5 litre bucket to the brim, waited until about 2/3 had drained into me, and refilled it again. I didn't hold that, but let it all out at once, and it came out fairly rapidly. At the end I reckon I was pretty empty.
Yes, it was a very nice session. One I shall repeat when the chance arises!
