The original Tyrell's Hygenic Institute JBL Cascade was in my opinion the ultimate enema device.
I have a congenital colon problem that required that I use enemas to help keep my bowels clean. When I was about 12 or 13 the doctor told my mother that I needed more than a bulb syringe and recommended that she get me a JBL Cascade enema bag so that I could do enemas by myself and fill my bowel more fully. So after a couple times of supervision I started to take enemas solo. I used the bag every 2 to 3 days and of course became addicted to the wonderful feeling that we all get from filling up with solution, emptying out and the glow afterward.
I always started out with a soapy water solution, filling up and emptying out a couple times then I would fill the bag with warm clear water or some times a salt/soda solution. This time I would try to take in as much water as I could hold.
Later on when I was in my 20's and before I got married I used to do the soap clean out and then use the special powder that Tyrell made to help cleanse the colon. It had special oil which was stimulating. I would sit on the bag and just barely let the water flow in. I could sit that way for 1/2 hour our longer enjoying the warm water filled pillow and the nozzle pressed against my anus as I would slowly fill up. Not infrequently I would empty the bag as far as it would let the water flow which was close to 4 quarts or so.
The old original bag was so much more comfortable than the one being made today. The bag was made from a heavy rubber impregnated canvas and the nozzle base was a Small dome shape which fitted up tight against the anus and help hold the water, the nozzle was about 3 inches long and only about 3/8's inches in diameter. It was perforated with small holes the entire length so that as the water flowed in it rose inside your rectum and colon as a steady rising column of fluid and helped making retention easier.
Over the years I wore out at least 3 bags.
Since I have gotten much older I had trouble doing enemas so have to do colonics now which I to enjoy, but really miss my long sessions when I would sit on my bag while reading.
By the way, I told my wife of my enema needs before we got married. She will do solo enemas but has never joined me when I took them myself.
Of course we both grew up in the 30's so she also grew up in the enema era.
