To give a pleasant enema there should be a level of trust between the giver and the receiver. To do this, the giver must establish a comfortable and private setting. I suggest that the enema should be given when both parties have no open concerns nor obligations. A good enema must be given when both parties are as relaxed as possible.
For a physical setting; I suggest that the enema be given in the bedroom. Hopefully, there is a bathroom attached to the bedroom, so there are no worries about accidents.
I recommend that a combination bag be used, along with the douche nozzle. I suggest that the solution be of distilled water with a sea salt addition, to insure the purest solution.
The about one tablespoon of sea salt is mixed per one quart of distilled water. The solution can be heated in a microwave until the solution temperature is between 105 and 110 degrees.
Once the solution is at the correct temperature, it can be transferred to the enema bag. The bag should be wrapped in a towel to insure that the solution is kept warm.
The receiver is escorted to the bed and a large towel is placed under the buttocks. The receiver should be free of clothing and other encumbrances from the waist down.
The wrapped enema bag is placed on a bed side table; no higher than 18 inches from the bed height. The enema tube clamp should be opened into a glass to get any air out of the tubing.
I prefer to use vegetable oil to lubricate both the nozzle and the anus. The insertion is done by just placing the tip of the nozzle against the anus with the very slightest of pressure. The nozzle will just slide in.
It is best to do the insertion when the receiver is in the Simms position ( left side with the right leg higher than the left leg). Once the nozzle has been inserted; the giver should help the receiver to turn on to his/her back.
When the receiver in on her/his back; then the tube clamp can be opened and the enema can begin to flow into the receiver. It is important that the giver and receiver talk while the solution is being instilled. It is the giver's responsibility to know when to stop the flow and to massage the receiver's tummy. This level of communication insures that both giver and receiver know what the other is doing and feeling.
Once the giver observes that the enema bag is flat/empty; then the giver helps the receiver to role back on his/her left side so the nozzle can be remover. I suggest that a fold of tissue be used to cover the anus during the removal of the nozzle to insure there is no leakage.
The giver should encourage the receiver to wait about five minutes to give the enema solution time to effectively work. If the receiver wishes, the giver can continue to massage the receiver's tummy.
Once the five minutes have lapsed, the giver should assist the receiver to get off the bed and escort the receiver to the toilet. Whether or not the giver remains with the receiver during the expelling process is a matter of preference between the receiver and giver.
