Enemas on Prime Time TV & in the movies?

Just last week while surfing the local TV channels I watched a rerun of Mash. Some of you may remember there was a hot water bottle hanging in one of the huts. On this episode Radar announces to the unit that this week the prize won was a high colonic . Later in the week while listing to a Morning show on the radio on the way to work, much to my surprise I think they call it yucking it up and joking around a joke was made about coffee enemas and adding sugar .Maybe its not as taboo subject which is good I guess.

In reply to doctorkrank, another film comes to mind. The Last Tango in Paris was released in 1972 and starred Marlon Brando who had the hots for Maria Schneider and shoves a stick of butter up her butt, then commences to have anal sex. I believe this film won several Academy Awards. When it opened in NYC, lineups to enter the theater stretched for many blocks for over a month. I saw it in Toronto, where I don't recall any lineup.

Not exactly enema related, but was watching a travel channel show where the commercial break trivia question was 'how long does the average person spend in the bathroom each year' with answers 5 days, one week, 10 days, or 2 weeks. I couldn't help but laugh thinking the number would be quite higher for most of us lol. The answer was 2 weeks btw

The "Kar-trashians" as we like to refer to them as, went to a spa and one sister was encouraging the other (Kim) to have one. This is on "E" network. They actually showed her on her side inserting the tube. She apparently had an oil additive because there was then reference to her leaking later in the episode.

There are some more movies with simulated anal sex. One is Zack and Miri make a porno where Traci Lords gets filmed while having anal sex.

Another is the remake of I spit on your grave where the girl's rapist tells her he is an 'ass man' before sodomizing her, and another disturbing one called irreversible where a woman is anally raped in a subway (not the food place!)

I have seen a Swedish film called Thriller: a cruel picture- where they used a body double to show actual anal sex. It is a revenge film.

Also, a Giallo horror film called What have they done to your daughters? when at the end the hero turns his girlfriend around and was about to take her up the butt when she protested.

If I'm not mistaken, I think there is a very brief moment in a British comedy film called 'A private function' when the leading actor Michael Palin is about to get an enema from his wife.

Archie in an All in the Famiky episode had gall bladder issues and was either going to get an enema or was complaining about the price of getting one. I can't remember the exact story line but hopefully he didn't give the nurse to much trouble,

I remember that gall bladder removal for Archie. He was looking over his hospital bill and exclaimed, "$25.00 for an enema? What were they using, Champaign?"

Gotta wonder why the producer of a TV show, movie, or any video would put a enemas bag, or enema prop in the show to begin with? Are they into enemas themselves? Are they trying to prompt enemas? Just trying to make a show look real? When I see enema bags like this, I usually think the producer is trying to send a message...

Regarding Squidgi's comment, just re-watched Kindergarden Cop and the scene also clearly shows a jar of vaseline and a rectal thermometer. Her grown drug-dealer son complains his mother was always trying to cram medicine down his throat as a child. I am surprised he didn't say anything about her put things up his bottom.

In the movie Midnight Cowboy there is a scene of a young Joe Buck as a boy being given an enema by his grandmother ,it stays in his memory because later in the male rape scene he is seen on the car hood with his pants pulled down as the guys proceed to rape him and the memory of the enema he was given as a young boy is shown as he being gang raped ! I saw that Bad Santa 2 was on Netflix and I suggested it when I had family staying with me this last Christmas ? Watch the full version of The Right Stuff as they select astronauts for nasa. Two candidates are racing down hospital corridors with balloon nozzles, tubing, and bags attached to them.

I remember that scene. Fun to watch even though I'm a straight male and don't really enjoy watching other men get enemas. As much as I enjoyed the scene, what I couldn't figure out is why they were giving the Astronauts enemas at all. Was it some quirk of 1960's medicine, a general stress test to see how long a big, tough astronaut could hold an enema, or some other reason like they were going to give them colonoscopies?
