I have been wondering about this.....I do 2-3 rather extensive clean out enemas a week, using one of the standard 2-quart hot water bottle kits from the drugstore (I wish I could make time for a shorter session on a daily basis, but work schedule is making that tough at the moment). I start off with natural evacuation, then 2-3 bags in a reclining (on back, left knee to chest, back slightly arched) and held for as long as possible before expulsion, and then move to a series of bags in the same position not held for very long and expulsion after each one. When the water runs clear, I then move to what I have been reading is called the knee-chest position (on knees, rear up, head to ground) and often find that there is more to come out. These two positions are the only ones I have ever used for enemas, and I'm wondering which of them (on back with knees to chest or one knee to chest and hips slightly elevated, or knee-chest) provides a deeper cleaning of the colon? Or are there others that are even better? Also, which is the best for getting clean past the transverse colon into the cecum?
One thing I have discovered, is that the sooner I move from the series I have lying on my back to the knee-chest position, the faster it seems I am able to get cleaned out.
Thanks for any input anyone can offer.
