Many thanx, Susie. I agree with all 'cept the 20" catheter. I have a "mega-colon" birth defect, mostly in the rectum area. the nurses wanted to get above it, injecting into the colon instead of turning the rectum into a basketball.
I've had a series of surgeries over the past five years, all colon. This is why the meds worked up the 2-day sched that I quoted.
The problems started with a burst diverticular July 4th 2005. --left me with a colostomy bag. Then Sept 1st went back in and did the repair that couldn't be done in July due to the emergencey nature of the problem. --left me with an iliostomy (sp?) bag. Finally back in Veteran's Day to retire the iliostomy bag, hooking me back up making me a "complete asshole" again.
All of the above left me with some fairly large hernias so in April decided to reduce them...however in the process punctured the large intestine! We were back to ground zero.
Two more surgeries...putting in a screen to contain the intestines and left me on my own.
Trust me when I say that I became a "study" and hence the routine that I wrote.
(I took a plain water enema this morning since my care-giver is away today and my ass doesn't hurt as much. I used vasoline instead of KY to establish a new base line.)
Thanks again. Susie...you're a God-send to this forum!
