I'm real curious as to to what a 20+ year old woman would know about Sears in the " Glory" days.
Most everything at Sears, for decades even today, has the Sears name on the product. Sears does not want the consumer to necessarily know who manufacturers the products at Sears; the same thing goes most everywhere.
Take Kroger Food Stores for example. Do you think they manufacture the cheese, milk, and eggs with their name on the product? Or, how about Kroger brand cereal, frozen vegetables or chickens (parts or whole) in the meat section?
They still purchase from the same providers, but with their own name on the item, they can purchase the product for less, even when the manufacturer puts their vegetables in a box with Kroger's name on it.
Sears does the same with their suppliers;
When Sears markets a washer under their name, vs GE the manufacturer, they pay less cost per item, and make a greater profitm
Just sharing from decades around retail.
Now, go out and have a gr8 evening, or day...
