I started sounding has to achieve the most intense and automatic ejaculation contractions from masturbation. I had tried various external sucking and vibrating approaches, but they take a lot of distracting work and have results little different from traditional jacking.
Then I first tried sounding with the handle end of a 2.5mm aluminum crochet hook. It was good as far as it went (literally) and the cool sensation added to the experience. Soon it became familiar and I needed something a bit longer and wider.
Then I used an old style tempered glass rectal therm and later a tempered glass veterinary therm, the latter 3 inches longer and about twice as wide as the first. The second was quite good, wide enough to be snug and long enough to matter. Rolling it in the fingers so its triangular profile can be felt inside was a very good sensation but its being glass caused me to abandon it especially when I wanted to go deep while I was short and soft...and then get hard.
Then I tried a 5mm rosebud sound, knowing I could reach the prostate with it and expecting its shape to stimulate in both directions, which it did. The problem was the very narrow shaft hurt both at the opening and inside, especially when erection came on and I ended up with damage and bleeding from inside that almost sent me to the emergency room.
Then I tried a 5mm Sims sound, which had a wider shaft behind the flared head than the rosebud. I could easily reach the prostate with it and "came" quickly and strongly with little effort beyond gentle in/out with the sound. The Sims has depth markings on it which can be felt as subtle ribbing, as well.
I have seen the stainless steel urethral vibrators on the net (posted a video clip of it here), but won't try one because they are too wide for me at 7mm. Also, they use a cell phone buzzer which I suspect is neither the right speed nor intensity, but the idea has interested me.
So I looked around the net and found the "oral b vitality sonic electric toothbrush". It has no mechanical movement but produces ultrasonic vibration into the brushing head through a steel post. My plan is to rigidly attach a suitable probe to the post. One I will try is a round 3.5mm x 250mm wooden artists paintbrush which I have sealed with non-permeable medical-grade paint. The steel post will fit into the brush's metal collar and I'll either crimp the metal or epoxy it together. Yes, I am aware of cleanliness and will use ophthalmic bacitracin on the sound as an antiseptic lube.
The routine will be like the Sims, to go in soft. The probe is wide enough not to hurt when erection comes on and the resulting tightness should accentuate the vibration.
If I'm right, this could be pretty intense.
