In my case, I invited my wife in to watch as my urologist prepared to remove a stent with a cystoscope. I had a bout of kidney stones and a stent had been placed. I was scheduled to have it removed and had been on pain killers. My wife took me to the doctor.
The first nurse had me sit on a reclining chair with stirrups. I was rotated back and found myself in that position. I registered a minor complaint and was promptly told by my wife that women were subjected to this humiliation often. The nurse explained that the doctor would be in shortly to remove the stent but first she was going to irrigate my bladder and then inject some gel in my penis to deaden the pain.
There I was in all my glory as I received a bladder enema through my penis. The saline solution was hung just as any ordinary enema bag and the catheter had been inserted. When this part was over, a different nurse came in and injected the gel.
Finally the urologist came in and inserted the rigid cystoscope and removed the stent after rooting around for several moments. Boy was I glad when it was over. The nurse cleaned me up and asked if I had any problems urinating or with BM's due to the pain killers. I told her that urination was painful and BM's non-existent.
She reminded me that stool softeners had been recommended to prevent constipation. She recalled that I had prepped for the lithotrypsy with enemas, and told my wife that she may need to give me an enema if my constipation persisted.
It wasn't long before I begged my wife for relief. I also reminded her that my poor penis had been abused and needed lots of TLC if an erection was to be possible again. Thank goodness for a warm enema, prostate massage, and a few well placed kisses.
