Yes!!
When I was growing up. . Dad raised me as a single parent. I don't know my mother. So, when I needed an enema, which only happened a couple of times a year, so it wasn't that frequent, It came down to Dad to give me the enema.
He was very good and explained everything in advance, and again as it went on, and he DID ask me all through how I was feeling.
I can't say it always went well, but I feel like I should say that it never went horribly. I never felt deliberately abused. I felt like he mad a poor decision a couple of times, but he did it with the best intentions.
One time. I must have been about 8, Dad told me not to eat after 4 pm, because "You'll be taking the adult size(2qt) bag for the first time.Neither of us needs you getting sick to your stomach!!" That statement made me a little queasy right there.
At bed time, I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I could only see that bulging 2-qt enema bag staring back at me, and being overwhelmed by the water.
The enema actually went well! I was able with some struggle to take the whole 2-qt soapsuds,Epsom salt, and table salt mixture. I held it longer than I had held an enema before. Don't remember how long. I actually got a clear return on the third round. So, it went well, and in the long run I had just freaked myself out needlessly.
