After many years of trying and failing with the normal beer / sleeping tablets type thing, I followed something that I read over on wetset.net and it really worked. The trick is to get your bladder really tired.
I can't really wear at home because my wife doesnt really approve, so when I go and stay away from home in a hotel, I like to try the following: First off, I couldn't relax properly if I thought that I might ruin the hotel mattress, so I have a decent plastic fitted sheet that I put onto the bed, followed by the normal bed sheet. On top of that I use an Abena disposable bed pad - it is so wide that it completely covers a double bed. I then wear a really good diaper - either a molicare classic, or an Abena. That way, when I do wet, it will be contained one way or the other.
The way that I wet without knowing about it is to start drinking water in the morning - I would have thought about 4 - 5 litres during the day - this will mean me going for a pee about 3 or 4 times during the day. After dinner, I deliberately stop going to the toilet, and try to hold it for as long as possible - until i'm dancing around the room (usually in private - in the hotel room). When the pain gets too much, I let a little bit go (usually into a diaper - I change before going to bed) and then wait again until i'm desperate. During dinner, I usually have a beer or two, and then have a couple of drinks in the evening. Nothing rediculous mind, perhaps 4 pints in total. Before going to bed, I completely empty my bladder - you can't go to sleep with a full bladder, and it gives you chance to get fully asleep before you need to pee. This really worked for me, and it is the first time that I woke up soaked (including the disposable bed pad) without knowing anything about it. Good luck.
