Walking back to the hallway in underwear only for weight as a teenager

Some have mentioned that this has happened to them. As a little kid it wasn't anything embarrassing but as an older teenager like 15 or 16 and possibly seen by other teenager of the opposite sex could be embarrassing. So, just wondering both guys and gals, Did you have to do this? How many times did other teenagers or parents see you in your underwear. Did you get to see other teenagers in their underwear. Did you ever see someone that you knew from your school. How did they react. Guys, if you had briefs on, was your package showing? or if you had boxers on, did you dick ever accidentally stick out of the fly

As a teenager, I only remember it once, when I was 14 and a high school freshman.

I never saw someone I knew in their underwear, but when I was 14, being weighed in just my briefs, I saw a boy and his mom being led into an adjacent exam room. I didn't recognize him at the time, but from the looks of him, I assumed he was a senior in high school. As I was a late bloomer, I had no bulge in my briefs at all, but I think he was the more embarrassed one, despite him being fully clothed.

In retrospect, I know why. One, we went to the same school, and he may have recognized me. He was only a grade ahead, so he was 15 or 16. Two, based on my own exams at that pediatrician through age 16, I know how his exam was about to go -- he would have to take off everything except his briefs for his own walk with the nurse to the hallway scale.

Unlike me, he was not a late bloomer, so his newly developed penis and testicles would be bulging in his tighty whities which we all wore at my school in 1990, at least based on my gym class locker room. During the exam, the doctor would be very sure he pulled down the boy's tighty whities twice, once lying on the table, and again standing on the floor, in a way to ensure the mom saw exactly how well her son's penis and testicles were developing. Not sure if this was reserved just for late bloomers like me, but he may have had to say when his penis started ejaculating semen, and whether it was from nocturnal emissions or masturbation.

I guess 14-year-old, late-bloomer me being weighed in my briefs really did have less reason to be embarrassed than he did.

It always struck me as unusual and intimidating when the doctor's office offered little privacy from those with offices in a home to one's making up a group practice with a line of exam rooms. The one thing in common seemed to be the ability to over hear the nurse telling a patient to give a urine sample and go to the exam room. Upon entering the room, often with a parent, the nurse would tell the patient to undress. Sometimes the nurse would already be engaged in a conservation with the parent advising them about their teens exam. It was common to see a parent smirk or comment as to their child's expectations for the exam. The comment that always made me nervous was hear, "Undress, everything off for the doctor."

Not in underwear but a weighing situation as a teen:

I was in an exam room fully dressed waiting for the doctor. A teenage girl who was a year below was asked from a nurse in the hallway " go to the room and undress your shoes, trousers and sweatshirt". But a few moments later the nurse explained:"stop undressing. We have to take your height and weight in another room" So the girl (dressed but without shoes) and the nurse came to my exam room. So the girl was measured in front of my eyes. She was embarassed about this situation. The nurse seems a bit confused.

In Germany the scale is normally in the exam room and not in the hallway.

I remember one time being weighed in the hallway at the same time as a teenage girl. We were both stripped down to our underwear, she was wearing a tank top with no bra. It was very embarrassing yet very arousing. We were both sitting in the waiting room fully clothed just minutes before. I was just glad that I had a button on the boxers that I was wearing.

I don’t ever remember having to get undressed to get weighed but one time I remember my exam room was outside where the scale was in the hall and seeing a boy only a few years younger than me getting weighed in his underwear. I never figured out why that was

My dr had one scale for babies in the hallway. Otherwise I just had to remove my shoes and stand on the Schiller in the hall. Next to the eye test chart.

So Nick...... did you have to undress completely naked in front of nurse and mom? Wow, that must have been embarrassing having to just sitting on the exam table naked with your mom looking while waiting for the doctor. Not to mention having to stay naked for 30 minutes and your mom watching your genital exam. So did you ever erect in front of everyone?

Hi @Lee_M and everyone else. I have posted here about how things were at the pediatrician when I grew up, which for me was basically being completely naked the entire time in the exam room, something that seems to be a bit of an anomaly. Your inquiry here about hallways is a good one and begs the question about the urine sample which now and then had to happen. Urine samples had to happen over a toilet and these B.S. videos online showing guys peeing into the cup in the exam room are ridiculous. When that happened to me, I was instructed to go into the bathroom first and pee into the sample cup and then, come to the exam room. Each exam room had a set of standing scales so I was weighed naked but there was privacy from others having to see - except my mom and my little brother.

This happened a couple of times when I was in elementary school. Got called into the room by the nurse. I sat up on the table and first thing was temp taken. Then she said, please strip down to your underwear. I did as I was told since my Mom was in the room anyway. The nurse came back and took me to the hallway for weight and height and then she handed me a cup for the urine sample. When I came out of the toilet, she took the cup and said I should go back to the room and the doc would be in shortly.

I think back at the time, this could have been the nurses routine as in later years she either left or retired and I did not have this hallway weighing until much later in HS and as an adult.

Never happened to me. When I was undressing in the exam room, I always worried that someone would accidentally open the door and see me, but it never happened.

Never, there was a scale in every room and only shoes were removed for weight anyway.

I love the idea of walking around in medical settings in general. I actually prefer a gown over the underwear, but I love everything about it. Walking from the waiting room, exam room, maybe the operating room. It can be both embarrassing, but also a bit exciting too.

if there was nobody in the hallway for the weigh-in on a scale, it was not an issue, more over if it was for a small kid under 10 age or even a pre-teen older than 10 until may be 14 age.

It was more questionable if it was for a teenager over 15 age but I presume that it could happen nevertheless !

of course, if there was other patients, parents with sons or daughters , it could be embarrassing if a boy was weighted in plain view of other patients and also of women or girls receptionists !

And it was depending also how the boy was undressed, if he was in underwear or stark naked, anyway in the past a gown was never given to a boy who was examined even if he might go to the hallway.

Never as a teen, but for my adult physical now I am in my gown and the scale is outside of the exam room. No one has even seen but I always feel nervous it will happen.

There was a scale in the exam room so if the doctor had to do something again, he would have done it there.

There was only a handful of times that the height, weight, and blood pressure had to be done again and it was always in the end while still in my underwear. And once when I was 17, I had to do the weight again fully nude, but I was forced to be naked at that point.

My urologist has the scale in the hallway but I get weighed before I go into the exam room. I slip off my shoes but leave my clothes on. I ask the nurse to subtract 4 pounds to account for the clothes!

This only happened once, when I was 14 . I felt no embarrassment at all (and still don't). Nobody saw me, but I wouldn't have cared if they did.
