Shower shots and lubrication

At this time, I don't really do enema play, but I do clean myself out before bottoming. I have this great portable shower thing that doesn't need any plumbing, but basically is a "shower shot". I'm trying ONLY to get the rectum because if the water goes past my sigmoid then it becomes a whole different production. So I put it in, count to 3, and pull it out and let the water go.

The issue I run in to is that I want to lube the nozzle to avoid irritating my anus, but of course water based lube gets washed off by the water, so I have to reapply EVERY time and that can get tedious. The folks I bought the kit from (Mr. S) recommended a "hybrid lube" which is part silicon and part water-based, but it didn't last either. I know a silicon lube will work but I hate getting silicone lube off. They recommended against using my favorite lube, which is Elbow Grease.

So if anyone else is doing bottom prep in this manner...how do you handle lubrication?

Vaseline or Crisco come to top of mind as easy solutions which are readily available at low cost. Good luck!

Those have the same issues that Elbow Grease does. They expressed concern it would cause the nozzle to retain debris and it's not that good for the silicone nozzle.

I have a shower shot. I use a Clean Stream 10-inch nozzle attached to a separate shower hose from my hand-held shower head.

I start with by lubing up the nozzle and my anus with a water-based lube. And yes, after the first insertion and expel, the lube is pretty much washed off the nozzle. But my ass has opened up and I can easily slide the nozzle in and out. I have been using my shower shot for quite some time. So I am used to starting with lube and then relying on the slippery wet surface to keep the 10-inch nozzle slick enough to use comfortably.

It all comes down to the nozzle and that's where using a silicone nozzle works well by remaining slippery with just being wet. I have not tried any of the metal nozzles so I can't say how they would feel after the lube is washed off. You just have to try different ones and see which ones are comfortable to use.

You can try coconut oil. That's what we use. Actually most of the time no lube is necessary as the water opens up the anus and acts as lubricant.

i discovered my anus at age 7, so i have a lifetime of experience inserting stuff in there. To me it's a more receptive organ than it is an exit. I too use mine as a clean out tool prior to bottoming (gay total bottom here), and i have never used lube. Technically, just plain water is an irritant to that part of the body, but then, so is stool. That part of the body has goblet cells that secret mucous as natural lube. i find douching stimulates more production of my bodies own natural lube and don't really have an issue with friction.

Another trick i use is starting the the process without actually inserting the nozzle. Just putting the tip of the nozzle against the outside of the anus will result in water going in to the rectum, it's a stream of focused water coming out the tip on my nozzle, not side holes. After the first rinse, my goes in without issue or need of lube.

And I've found that going in without lube seems to irritate my anus. But I'm pretty tight because I'm very new to bottoming.

I have a shower shot for bottoming prep and usually forego adding lube. Instead, I get the nozzle in me by turning on the water before inserting. I then hold the tip of the nozzle against my anus and wait for it to start to open up. The pressurized stream of warm water is usually enough to do that. As my anus opens, I slowly push the nozzle inside.
