My response references my first exam in 1979. Gynecological exams in the US are no longer in the nude. I didn’t have an ultrasound as they weren’t common at that time.

yes...I started having sex that week and unprotected sex 18 times in 6 day so I decided I need to get on the pill - I had to have the exam to get the prescription for birth control pills.

No I was left alone in the room before the doctor came in and was told to completely undress then put on a gown.
