Do you still like it? Who takes your rectal temp?

Never understood why. Always found it kind of uncomfortable, but in a pleasant way. I guess i always enjoyed the intimacy too, and found it very bonding.

When I was hit by the COVID virus and ran a 102 fever, my husband took my temp rectally with a glass thermometer that my mother gave us when we were married. Although I was having terrible chills, the intimacy I felt curled up in bed having my temperature taken in my behind somehow felt comforting and enjoyable. As an adult I had it taken many times.

For me I found it more a psychological issue such as a thrill or possibly the angst of having it done, the comments made to you as it was being taken, who was taking it, where, what setting; home or other residence, a clinic or hospital? Why was it being done; fever, verification of body temperature or with a s/o as part of your relationship and how the experience went?. Was it upsetting or looked forward too or were you ambivalent?

Yes there was a physical aspect as well. Hands on your body( buttocks) the invasive nature as the instrument was inserted, then as some temperature takers did, turn the thermometer while inserted or pull it slightly out then re-insert it. Having your briefs or panties pulled down. How you were placed, on your tummy, on your back, OTK or on your side or on all fours?

So for me it was a mix, probably more psychological than physical.

I agree with DST. I like the accuracy and the feelings while my bottom is holding it. When taking the thermometer in my bottom on my back patio, the anticipation of someone looking over my fence or dropping by and seeing my thermometer sticking out of my bottom is a bit exciting and embarrassing at the same time. I think its the anticipation that it could happen at any time and the embarrassment/humility that I would feel, the questions I might have to answer but I will have to wait and see. I've been taking my thermometer in my bottom more often now on the patio so am I hopeful? Absolutely!

I never enjoyed it as a very young kid, when it was forced on me. I was enlightened by a girlfriend who re-introduced me to it as a young adult. I found my anus turning into a magic carpet ride. A part of my enjoyment of having my temperature checked rectally is reliving the experience of having it done, whether by Mom or at the clinic, as a child. Very interesting question. For me it’s strange how I grew to love something I hated so much. I remember when I first realized I liked it, maybe 6th or 7th grade. I always had rectal temps at doctor’s office but my mother was always present. The first time I realized I liked it was when I went for a physical after school by myself and my mom wasn’t there. I walked there by myself after school and got a complete physical without my mom being in the exam room and when the nurse took my temperature she left me by myself for a few minutes while the thermometer was in my butt.
