@GraceT probably the examinations made it worse.
@Pecan_nutjob
This all leaves me quite perplexed.
First of all, I am surprised that we are performing an endo-rectal ultrasound on a patient who we suspect is pregnant.
Once she has sex with her partner, she is no longer a virgin so why not a very simple endo-vaginal route?
On the other hand, I doubt your sentence which attributes to the examinations the increased risk of miscarriage.
The causes of these outcomes, which are real tragedies for future parents, are very difficult to understand, but it is nowhere described in the literature that obstetric diagnostic procedures are involved.
If you fear that it will be more pejorative for a fetus for a gynecologist to examine its mother, then you must prohibit all sexual relations at the slightest delay in your period.
There are, of course, high-risk pregnancies for which caution is necessary, but at this point, I personally have never seen them!
To respond to the initial post, introducing an ultrasound probe rectally in gynecology is a very specific case of exceptional rarity.
