Racefan19. The time I felt most embarrassed was once aged about 19/20 when I went to my regular family doctor to get my competition licence signed which was supposed to be just a formality relating to medical history and eye sight. The doctor was only required to confirm you had all your limbs, good eyesight and full movement of your limbs. To my surprise I found on arriving that the regular doctor had retired and been replaced by a foreign doctor who had been called out to a home visit. The receptionist who happened to be a neighbour said if I was happy to wait a short while I could however see the doctor's wife and have my form signed.
Having agreed I waited a short while and was eventually called into the surgery. When I presented the form to her, (she was Arabian) she spent a few moments looking at it then went out and returned but asked me to go back to the waiting area as she had one other patient waiting to be seen; another foreign lady. I couldn't really complain as I hadn't made an appointment. Eventually the other patient left and the receptionist said we! could go in now. Once back in the surgery the receptionist started to explain the purpose of the form to the doctor who didn't seem to have much English.
What followed was a complete physical examination with the receptionist taking the notes. So I had BP taken, removed my shirt and my chest sounded, told to strip to my underpants for a weight check. Eyes, reflexes, etc tested, then the doctor started to wave her hands at me in the direction of my underpants and when I didn't immediately respond the receptionist, sounding I'll grant her a bit embarrassed, said ''you need to remove your underpants.''
I was shocked but needing the form signed in order to obtain my licence which was linked to an instructing job I was about to take up so turning my back to the receptionist I removed them. There followed the usual genital, hernia and anal examination and to give the neighbour/receptionist credit It wasn't her fault she could see everything as the doctor kept turning to her asking her to make notes now and then.
Eventually everything seemed to be finished but I was left standing naked while the receptionist explained to the doctor where the form had to be signed and where to put the practice stamp. Some discussion followed before the receptionist said I'd have to call back the following day for the form. I dressed then went out into the reception area where the receptionist explained rather embarrassed that the 'doctor' couldn't sign as only her husband was actually legally allowed to work in the country until her qualifications were confirmed.
Fortunately the receptionist/neighbour wasn't a close friend of the family so I only saw her occasionally in the street but when I did for quite a few months I fell extremely embarrassed and wondered whether she ever told other neighbours or her family about my examination in front of her.
