How old were you the first time you have had a tooth filled?
Not really sure of old I was the first time I had a filling, but I can remember vividly to this day that when I was 5 or 6 years old, my sister had been called by mom to come to the bathroom just as we were going to bed in our shared bedroom. When she did not come right back, curious me wandered down the hall and looked into the bathroom. I must have been as wide eyed as a deer caught in headlights when I saw my sister laying on the floor with a bright red enema hose up her behind. Mom was regulating the flow and Daddy was holding the enema bag up. He looked up and saw me saying, "perhaps you should be next". As soon as my sister got on the toilet, I was on the floor getting my little hind end lubed up and quickly but gently had enema nozzle in me and the water started to flow. I did not take much water at all before I needed to "go" and implored my sister to hurry and finish as I was desperate. That is the only time my father was ever present when enemas were given to me or my sister.
Back to the original question, there were two infant enema bulbs in our bathroom drawer so it was likely earlier than that both my sister and I got enemas but neither of us remember them. We did play with them first thinking they made excellent long range squirt guns not knowing what they were for. Later we figured it out and had fun giving one another a squirt up at bottoms.
Age 8 I think. Of course it was a scary thought but I got through it. No numbing shot needed for those early ones. (I believe the first time I got lido-cane was as a teen.) This was in the early 1960's, so the drilling was done using the belt drive system.
21 or so. I still remember the smell of the practice. Felt weirdly elevated afterwards.
Can't remember exactly but I think around 14 or 15?
I was absolutely terrified, even though it's a fetish I'm really a huge wimp when it comes to the dentist and this was like my worst nightmare. I requested numbing even though the cavity was very shallow. Then being hyper focused on every sensation as I was so terrified that it was still going to hurt, feeling that weird buzzing in my head as she lowered the drill onto the occlusal surface my molar and the drill bit started to work its way through my enamel... *shudder*!
Oh and then before I knew it it was over and I was sitting there wondering why nothing really happened. Lol. Turns out getting a small filling was no big deal after all.
My first teeth fillings I got around 6 years.
Between 14 and 16 the number raised quickly.
During each of my dental visits one or more cavity was found in my teeth, in the end all my molars had a filling when I was 16.
Never had a cavity but i got braces when i was 63 , they had to take out 1 tooth and that kind of bothers me , uneven number of teeth now , 31
Age 37 and still haven't had one. been told they hurt like a B. not looking forward to getting one anytime soon.
Earliest filling I can remember was about 4-5 years old.

how did you feel when you were getting new fillings at pretty much every dental visit?
What did you get? Amalgam? Composite?
9 or 10 years old. I broke a molar and needed to get it fixed. The dentist was elderly and his hands shook. It was not the best experience for the first time. But the molar was filled.
Probably about 10-12
Too young to remember haha!
I have to say a lot of people in USA seem to have got fillings from a very young age, more than in the UK in terms of averages. Is that fair to say?
Oh surprisingly I never got any when I was younger that I know off I think I just got cleanings all the time but I didn't get one until I was like 21 around the time when I could no longer put down my high school as the place of education and not need to pay anything then from there at least 2 fillings on my first appointment with no numbing at all. It was definitely a bit of a turn on but my dentist is male and I'm more into his female assistants instead.
I was about 8 or so and I had to have a bunch of them and they hurt so much I made sure never to need one again.
I was 18 I believe it was 1998 and I think they used glass ionomer. I had 2. Only time I've had 2 done together.
Had one done when I was 18 and then had to have it redone a year later after it fell out. Touch wood I must have looked after my teeth as I haven't needed another since.
I was about 8 and I had two cavities in my molars.
I was around 5 when I got my first filling in my baby teeth, and around 10..12 I've got my first fillings in my permanent teeth.
My guess is that it happened at around age 5 or 6? It wasn’t traumatic. Maybe that’s because I wasn’t paying the bills then. I actually thought the fillings looked pretty cool.
I think mine was at 16. I had just gotten my braces and had a cavity in one of my upper left pre-molars on the lingual side. It was small and didn't require any numbing. Just a quick blast of the high speed and a little of the low speed.
I was 19 when I had my first and only filling.
That would be never. I have always dreamed about how it would feel, both psychologically and physically.
For me the psychology is so much more interesting, the humiliation and fear when I hear the diagnosis is somewhat intoxicating. Very much playing into my submissive side.
Not to say that the aesthetic of the dentist preparing the tools and the sound of the drill wouldn’t be exciting in its own strange way.
