Rocking the thermometer

I’ve been using the new AI program chat gpt and talking about RT. I’ve learned that the practice of twirling and moving the thermometer while it is in the rectum was common practice to make sure the thermometer made contact with the rectal wall and got an accurate reading. Has anyone else heard this term?

Rocking, nope I have not heard this.

Not heard about that, but I can understand why. Sometimes there is “something” in the way that could disturbe the measurement, at least if not been doing “number two" before.

Articles on “How to take a rectal temp” (at least the ones I've seen) - don't mention twirling the thermometer. Especially the digital read ones. No idea whether touching the rectaum wall wouldn't naturally occur with insertion - or if it would improve the reading.

Just asked the question, on chatgpt, “taking a rectal temperature and rocking the thermometer.” It does answer what you said, that's very interesting.

Then I asked the same question a bit later and it reversed itself and said rocking was bad, and should not be done. Chatgpt can be a bit twitchy.

Dont know how common it is, or was, but I had that experience once as a teen by female nurse and once in ER at age 24 with male nurse. They both slowly twirled it and moved it around slowly in circle a lot.Felt like it was almost out then plunged back in also numerous times. ,It was like being thermometer raped. The male in ER had me stripped and gown on but pulled up over my belly, knees bent up . HE lifted my balls up and pushed it in.

I’ve heard, twisting and turning. That said, if you know someone who did that, they might have a definition or an answer.

Having had a strong rectal temperature fetish thoughout my life, I have often allowed the thermometer to make slow small back and forth moves into the rectum of the receiver. And I confess I have enjoyed the same being done to me. But I have never used medical reasons to justify this. LOL.

When I first signed up for Chat GPT I asked it some rectal temperature questions and it responded using what appeared to be canned replies it scraped from websites. Also, it doesn't seem to change its response much. I suppose it arrives at the answer it believes is optimal and sticks with it. Interestingly, I played around with GPT a few weeks later and it refused to answer RT questions on decency grounds. I don't know if it was conflating "rectal" with the more sexualized term "anal" or what.

Also, I've played around with adult image generators and have yet to produce an acceptable RT or medfet image other than rather tame nurse images. My AI generated RT pictures tend to be comical or surrealistic such as a huge thermometer sitting between a woman's cheeks but not inserted. Has anyone had any luck producing AI medfet pictures?

I dont think there is any reason for it other than in my case, they liked to do it and see how aroused a young guy gets. I did.

I don't think the is true. Unless you have some serious gas problems, the rectum and colon would close upon itself so twirling wouldn't make a difference. Of you look in with a speculum you would see this.

I don’t believe that it’s a part of medical training to twirl or twist a rectal thermometer. If anything, rectal thermometers are relics of days gone by. Isn’t anal contact these days, considered to be taboo, racist, and psychologically harmful? I’m sure that someone would make that claim.
