Beeswax + mineral oil. I sh1t you not, it is grand!
I make a paste wax from these components for wood projects such as cutting boards, bowls, etc. Gives the project a nice, warm appearance as well as increases the durability. I discovered its lubricating property by accident when I made a batch that came out as a gell instead of a good solid paste wax.
The recipe:
1. Mix 2 parts melted white beeswax with 1 part mineral oil.
2. Stir vigoursly until combined into a whitish gell. (It will have a yellow cast if yellow beeswax is used)
3. Adjust consistancy to your preference by adding more beeswax for a more solid product or more oil for a less viscous one.
Tips:
• Beeswax melts at 140° (F) [60° C], so choose the consistency accordingly. It will not melt if applied to skin or rectum.
• Weigh your beeswax after melting and measuring volume (1/4cup, 3 ml, etc.) so next time you can weigh the wax before melting and have the perfect volume. Doing this is much less messy.
• Use food grade ingredients without any additives. i.e no baby oil
• Store covered for up to six months. If you have any left after six months you made too much or aren't using it often enough.
• Yes, mineral oil is a petroleum product so use with rubber or latex toys/tools will eventually damage the t/t.
