Have you ever seen/ heard someone get examined?

Has anyone ever seen or heard someone get examine? When I was younger my mother would schedule appointments for me and my sister to get physicals and I remember once leaving the room for a second while I heard the doctor snap her gloves then I heard her cry through the door. later that night i found out she had to get a pelvic exam due to a urinary issue. the images in my mind were wild

Working in the office either right next to the main exam room or a short ways away, overhearing exams was a frequent occurrence. As I was working, didn't really pay much attention, it all blended into the background noise.

I remember one time when I was a kid my mom brought me to the gynecologist with her. I guess I didn’t have school, no one else could watch me, and I was too young to stay home alone. From where my seat in the exam room was I couldn’t see anything too major though and I spent most of the exam playing a game or reading a book or something. I do have a distinct memory of the doctor saying “I’ll start from the top and work my way down,” to my mom before she began the exam though.

I went with my wife to most of her prenatal appointments. On her first one with our first child, the doctor gave her a complete gyno exam because she was overdue. That was beyond exciting to watch, literally a dream come true. I also recently watched her receive a breast exam from a surgeon she used to work with. That was terrifying at the time, because of her health scare, but exciting to think back on now.

At various other times, while waiting for the doctor, I have heard exams being done in the next room. I usually can't make out all that is being said, but often I can hear enough to piece it together. But I can distinctly hear those telltale sounds that let me know exactly what's going on at that moment. The paper crinkling when a patient lies back or sits up. Sometimes the gloves being wrestled on. The foot rest or step being pulled out or pushed in. My favorites are the cough-cough, pause, cough-cough, and the sound of the stirrups being pulled out and clicking into place. I've even been able to hear the lid on the lube being clicked open then shut. I love going to the doctors!

Once years ago I was sitting in the exam room waiting on the doctor after the nurse left and through the wall in the next room I could hear the doctor explaining to a patient that his prostate was slightly enlarged. at the time I was to young to have yet experienced a prostate exam but was well aware of how you got it checked so I sat there invisoning what had just happened in that room wondering if this was going to happen to me next.

I saw my older brother get examined. I was in the room a couple times when my dad was examined when I was younger. I just remember when he took off his pants I thought I would never be that hairy.

Every hospital or clinic has a pre-operative holding room where you change into a hospital gown and probably have IVs inserted. There may be as many as 20 beds in this room, all separated by nothing more than curtains. You can’t see what’s going on in the beds close to you, but you can hear more than you ever wanted to know. On one occasion my “neighbor” was having a hysterectomy. On another, an ovarian cyst removed. On still another, a heart valve replaced. At one of my former doc's offices they scheduled all the physical exams in the morning (i think to allow for the patient to fast overnight, get the blood draw before the exam, and then be able to eat immediately following). always enjoyed knowing that the other guys that i saw in the office at that time of day were probably there to have complete exams done. i remember hearing a guy cough a few times in the exam room next to mine. was hot to think about what was going on at that moment, and trying to think about which guy it could have been.

There was this one time in the waiting room where this was this tall blonde who was holding her stomach. When the doctor called her into tone room closest to the waiting room, the doctor didn’t shut the door completely, so you could hear some of things they were talking about. I heard the blonde talking about stomach cramps or something like that. The doc had her lie down on the table, and she actually stepped out for a bit. When she opened the door, I could briefly see the blonde lying there.

I knew what was gonna happen, abdominal exam. Eventually the doctor came back, and again she left a small gap at the door. Finally the doctor says “I’m gonna have you lift up your shirt for me, and bring your shorts down a little bit.” You can hear the doctor tapping and percussing on her stomach, it was very hot. I tried to take a subtle peek, but unfortunately I couldn’t see anything. At School in Scotland there was something called the balls test. It was a thorough medical during which the Dr checked if your balls had dropped .
