The last time you were auscultated?

Most recently for me was about a month ago. I had hit my head pretty hard against something by accident and went to make sure everything was alright. During the routine vitals check they had to do the nurse auscultated me. It had been a while since I’ve had that done and it felt good to remember the sensation of stethoscope against my chest.

@DrC Auscultated because of a hurt/injured shoulder??

I have not been auscultated for 8-10 years, even i had an operation this year.

Yeah…they treated it as a regular doc's appt.

I was auscultated last week at my routine yearly physical.

The doctor isn't my usual doctor but she was lovely and quite thorough. She started off by taking my pulse and blood pressure (manually) then asked me to remove my t-shirt. She stethed all over my chest and back for probably just over a minute and a half. She said everything sounded good but as part of the physical I had to have an ECG.

She stuck the pads on my chest and I could see heart thumping like mad. I'm just thankful that all turned out to be fine.

It was definitely a fun experience, although as always my breathing was a bit shaky when she asked me to breathe in and out deeply

Last week when I met my new primary care doctor for the first time. I'm not sure if that appointment was considered a physical or just a meet and greet. He took my BP twice because it was so high when the nurse took it. Then he listened to my heart, with my shirt still on, as I sat in the chair next to the computer/ desk. Next he had me sit up a bit and he listened to my lungs in back while I took 2 deep breaths. I also had to have an EKG before he'd let me leave.

I always find it embarrassing to have my pulse and BP taken or my heart listened to, because I have a severe case of white coat syndrome. As soon as he grabbed his stethoscope, I try to inconspicuously breathe deeply to try and reduce my heartbeat. It never works.

Last autumn. I had bronchitis so it happened a few times over a couple weeks. Shirt off but bra on. Still brings up all my memories and fantasies.

During my annual physical. She make me remove my shirt and lay on the examination table. She applied the cuff to my right arm due to position. And measured pressure auscultating Korotkov sounds while inflating the cuff. Her stetoscope and fingers slight touch on my chest were very arousing and she asked me to relax. She stopped speaking to auscultate heart and I stare her sweet evil gaze under a facial mask. She gently palpated my arms, chest then belly and ask me to pull down a bit my trousers for palpation of lower abdomen. Unfortunately she reached only the base of my penis, no genital exam for me this time…

A few days ago by my neighbor. My neighbor is my Doc. He takes excellent professional care of me. I’ve been dealing with exacerbations of respiratory issues as of late.

Last week-end, during our monthly internal family checkup

Today, at my yearly exam.

About 2 years ago at my driver’s license exam, I didn’t expected to be stethed and my heart started to beat so fast when I saw the stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. Doctor take my blood pressure and pulse rate by listening my mitral valve with stethoscope, he said that I have tachycardia cus my heart was pumping so fast, more than 130 beats… My blood pressure was high too.. Bad experience..

For me it has been a play exam with a female friend. We met up a couple of times for casual love stuff and we also played with my stethoscopes.

This exam was maybe half a year ago. Sadly, we won't be meeting up again since she has started dating and doesn't want to see other people.

About a month ago at my annual check up. I had a thorough exam, the doctor auscultated my heart on my bare chest, then when I laid down, he even had my expose my belly as he listened. My last doctor only did a quick tummy exam over my clothes.

The last time I was auscultated in real life was a month ago, when I was having stomach pains and went to the docs.

He had a female junior doctor in with him and asked if I minded her observing which I didn't. Unlike previous exams where they would use childish terms like examining my tummy, the doctor was very medical in his terminology that day.

He started by asking me to take my t-shirt off, exposing my belly with the red waistband of my Spiderman boxers showing above my jeans.

The usual steps happened, but when it came to the auscultation part, he said "We'll start by listening directly above the umbilicus, listening for up to two minutes to listen for normal bowel sounds, and then all four quadrants surrounding the umbilicus."

Then "We'll auscultate superior to the umbilicus looking for any bruits. We'll then auscultation 3-4 cm laterally and superior to the umbilicus, on both sides for any bruits."

I've said before how I like them talking about examining my tummy, listening to my tummy, listening above my tummy button etc. But it was also nice for a change them being very medical, especially with someone watching.

I've posted about this on here earlier but last weekend I was playing a patient in a film my sister is making for a college project of hers. My Mother was the Doctor and I was auscultated by her stood up, sat down and lay down. It was a very strange experience. We are filming a follow up scene tomorrow evening where I believe my Sisters friend Cherry will be playing my Doctor and is going to be auscultating me. I'm looking forward to that more ha

Just went to see a GP for prolonged cough and general weakness, met with a female doctor in her 40s, good/average looking with a tight fitting dress exposing her curves to some extend.

explained to her my issues, she straight away checked my throat with a tongue depress and asked to me to a big Ahhhh.

then checked my bp with automatic BP app, bp was a bit high 140/105, she said can I check it manually? I said yes

I saw her white colored littman cardiology 4 was hanging with the manual bp app, she checked my BP and inflated the bp cough twice.

she then started to tell me its just common cold etc and nothing to worry about, I was a bit unhappy as to no auscultation. I insisted that I had cough etc and then she politely asked, can I please listen to your chest? I gladly said yes.

she commanded, please standup, I did, she grabbed her white littman stetoscope while I was standing, then she said please can you pull your shirt up, I pulled my shirt up all the way exposing my back.

Deep breaths In out and Out for me please, she commanded, she listened to about 10 spots, top to bottom and side by side and then listened again on the upper part of the chest. This was all while I was standing with my back exposed. she said my chest was clear.

this was a very detailed stethoscope exam I have had in a while, enjoyed it very much 😃

@simbu which country are you from? I've read too many times about doctors being reluctant to give proper exams or listening to patients over clothing. Personally if the doctor says they want to listen to my chest it's a cue for me to take my shirt fully off, but great that you were adamant that you got fully examined and got a very detailed exam as a result. 😃

About four weeks ago I changed my family doc. And, to my surprise, it was a female doc, finally! I guess, due to this fact, I was definitely excited to see her for the first time and my heart was quite thumpy already as I was sitting in the waiting area. She was very kind, relaxed, attractive and made an experienced impression to me. As soon as she said 'these' trigger words and asked me to undress for a general and overall exam I felt my heart pounding even harder and faster. I couldn't wait to feel her steth on my bare chest on all of the auscultation spots of my heart and already as she started listening she said with a little smile in her face " Oh, it's a little fast!". I'm quite sure she knew why and continued listening to the rest of my front and back without any complaint. I think, I'll see her more often, now!

@heartexam I can only describe the first scene we filmed with my Mum as the Doctor as the one we were supposed to film last week with my sisters friend had to be postponed due to her not being able to get a babysitter. We are hoping to do this scene tomorrow. I really hope she can find one! The scene we filmed with my Mum she had me sit down on a stool and listened to my heart both breathing normally and then taking some big deep breaths. She then moved round to my back and first tapped on my back and had me say 99 before listening to my lungs again breathing normally and then while doing some deep breaths. I then had to stand up while she did the same.After this she had me lie down on my back and listened with her stethoscope before finally having me lie on my side and reached across me and listened to my heart, breathing normally initially and then whole doing some deep breaths

It look like your mother really know how to listen. You are lucky to have experience that situation. It will most likely be in your memory for rest of your life. And she really know how and where to listen. Its not likely your sisters friend will do it so throughly and correctly as your mother.

But of course better with one more experiences.

@Heartexam to be honest it was a very strange experience being examined by her in front of my sisters friend who was playing a nurse and my sister who was filming. We've watched it back since and that was even stranger. To be fair to my Mum though she was excellent as the Doctor especially considering she has no previous medical experience.

Stevo, was your shirt off during auscultation?

@Shane73 Not completely. I had to lift it my shirt up while my heart and chest were listened to. And again while my abdomen was examined

My PCP checks heart and lungs - maybe just lungs on every visit. It’s been over 30 years since anyone ausclated my abdomen.

Filming the follow up scene for my sisters short film this evening. Her friend Cherry isn't able to make it but apparently she has got a colleague from work to fill in instead as the Doctor. Looking forward to it but also quite nervous!

About 3 years ago.

I had to go to the hospital to be checked over.

Didn't really know what to expect.

Told to strip to the waist, and the Doctor got out his stethoscope and listened to my chest and back.

My nipples are quite prominent and I did feel them erecting, but the Doctor didn't comment.
