Hedonic Adaptation and Medfet

Psychologists use a term called hedonic adaptation to describe the manner in which the mind adapts to positive or negative stimulus. More exposure to a stimulus results in a lesser mental reaction. For example, the first scoop of chocolate ice cream a kid has might be the most pleasurable experience of his young life but the 100th is probably only moderately pleasurable.

When I was young, just about anything related to rectal temperatures or shots would set me off. Even hearing the word rectal or seeing a stubby thermometer would set me off mentally. I used to get turned on by an enema illustration in an old Red Cross nursing book my mother had. As a teen, I found a nursing photo book that showed a woman receiving enemas and a suppository and I used it for many hours of mastubatory fun.

Now that I've probably seen thousands of medfet pictures and movies I find that I no longer get the same thrill from the experience. It has to be really special media to turn me on. Has anyone else experienced this?
