What was the reason for your prostate/rectal exam at a young age

I had three done before the age of 30 at ages 8, 17 and 25. Most of my medical care was for a GI problem and that was likely the reason for me getting these rectal exams. Checking stool for blood was part of it. the ones at ages 8 and 25 were performed by female physicians, the one when I was 17, by a male physician.
