How was your first speculum exam.

I had a patient today for bacterial vaginosis. she never had a speculum exams before and when i explained her about the procedure she felt slightly nervous and uncomfy. a sudden squirm to the touch of cold stainless speculum and hissing noise of breathing when it was sliding softly inside explained her uncomfy feel to the unfamiliarity of the procedure. as i unscrewed the speculum to open she just held her breath for a while and released with loud exhale with mouth as i suggested her to do so.

After the procedure she told it was totally new thing for her and she was slightly uncomfy during it.
