Fighting the urge

As a child I used to hold my poo, which would result in being constipated. In my experience this always resulted in a large glycerin suppository pushed up my bottom from my mother. Having dipped the suppository in vaseline my mother would then push if as deep into my protesting rectum as possible. I would be so angry, and would tell her that I refuse to go. I would sit angrily on my bed and sulk. At first nothing seemed to be that much difference, but once the vaseline had dissolved and the glycerin suppository start to melt up my hot angry rear, the sensations started to feel very different. I would clench my bottom tight and fight the urge with all my might,but eventually would end up on the toilet with large lubricated turds ejecting noisily from my anus. Did anyone else try to fight this urge and humiliation?

A lot of times, the suppository was inserted and I was asked to wait till I felt the need to 'go'. When the time was right, I was asked to 'produce results'. Of course I used to fight the urge of having to poop in front of the administrator, out of embarrassment and anger, but it rarely worked, and failing to do as directed only meant that I would be getting a second one!

Never had any issues requiring suppositories as a child, so I have no experiences to relate. And by child I mean up to the age of 18.

Oh, yes. I had a big problem with withholding and constipation as a young boy. I was given fiber-rich foods like prunes and spinach, and sometimes a powdered laxative. When that didnt work (and it often didn't), I was given an enema, and I got many enemas. I had to take them against my will, screaming, begging, and fighting it. After being administered the enema, I was placed on the toilet to expell the enema and my poo. I always tried to resist it, sitting there still crying and whining about the enema I just got . But the urge was always too strong, and I finally had to release it, and let it all splash down into the toilet. I always felt defeated, as if the enema, and my parents and grandparents (who took part in the humiliating experience) had won.

Man, does this bring back some deep memories! When I was very young, under 6, I hated to stop playing to sit on the toilet. I was able to cross my legs while standing and force the urge to go back up inside! When I did have bowel movements, they were always huge, frequently clogging up the one, family toilet in our house. My father would blow a fuse when I did this. My mother was not a fan of enemas, but rather suppositories. So, I had many of them pushed up there where "The sun don't shine!." One time, I managed to get so plugged up, I had to go to the doctor for relief. He gave me an enema, which moved things a little, but I was left with a big hard chunk that would not pass. So, he actually DUG IT OUT OF MY BUTT , in pieces, with various assorted tools. I still remember him pulling it out, piece by piece, and putting it on a newspaper. That was NOT fun.

Resisting poo is a common way kids try to defy authority. And it sort of works... for a while... because after a time, the urge to poo goes away. However, sooner or late, it becomes obvious what is going on to a parent from soiled underwear to malaise or to no interest in food.

But, once the situation is noticed, determination not to poo actually works to advantage. Once a suppository or enema nozzle is in, the fight is over. It becomes a matter of when, not if. And the longer the person tries not to poo, the more effective the laxative will be and the stronger the urge becomes.

Ironic but true.

When I did have bowel movements, they were always huge, frequently clogging up the one, family toilet in our house. My father would blow a fuse when I did this.

Man, this happened to me too!! I'm not sure I was aware of how big my BM's were, but my father had often commented that mine were rather large. One time, we had a clogging issue with the toilet, and my father recommended after I did a BM, that I should reach into the bowl and manually break up my big turds. (I never followed his suggestion.) After a plumber was called, he discovered that there was a washcloth that had been caught in the plumbing . . . so it wasn't my BM's. But my dad made similar comments at other times, about how big my BM's were.

I often found I had no urge to visit the toilet - even when I was badly constipated. Suppositories kicked it pressure in - but only a little. Because of this, mommy started giving me adult suppositories instead of children ones quite early. She also tried giving me douche enema, with little success.
