In the last message I was asked if I was really incontinent, and the answer is yes. At night I bedwet about 4-5 times a week. During the day, I have some control, but I often do not have enough warning to make it to the toilet unless I am fairly close. Therefore I now wear diapers 24/7. I would much rather have someone know I am wearing a diaper than have an accident.
In my family, there are 5 of us, we all have small bladders. I have one younger sister (16 now) that does not have the problem. She has been out of diapers since she was 3, except for long trips, etc. At 7 my mother stopped having her wear diapers for that because she had not used the diapers she was made to wear for the 2 years before that. She did not mind wearing them, but neither mom, dad or her felt that she needed them. When it became her choice on whether to wear diapers or panties, she chose the panties. Only once when she did not feel good did she ask to wear a diaper. She had no accidents and so she never asked for them again. I was 13 at the time, and it was before I became completely comfortable with my diapers and I will admit, I was jealous. But I did not want her to have to wear them if they were not needed.
In my home, wearing diapers have been considered a normal thing. We just understood that if we wet, we wore diapers. We had to be dry for 2 months at night before it was considered safe to go without a night time diaper. If we had more than two accidents in a month, we had to go back to diapers until we were reliably dry. It was for practical reasons, not punishment. If we had daytime accidents, we had to go back to daytime diapers for a week if we had more than 2 in a month. We always had the choice of wearing a diaper at other times if we felt we might have a problem. It was not considered an accident if we wet or soiled the diaper on those occasions. Both mom and dad were bedwetters into their teens so they are very understanding.
I wear diapers because it is the sensible thing to do. I am just thankful that I am comfortable with it now, and fact I enjoy them at times.
