Urine Sample in a non-Private Bathroom

Couldn't find anything about this searching through discussions, but something from my exam in 2018 just stuck out to me.

After a fairly routine annual physical exam a couple of years ago I was asked to provide a urine sample for analysis. This was at a fairly large metro hospital with ample facilities on site. My doctor explained the request to me, handed me a cup, and told me "that I could get dressed and the bathroom is down the hall to the left". He left the room, I did as instructed, and was surprised when I walked into a bathroom that had multiple stalls and urinals.

Nobody was in there, and it felt like a fairly private space, so I filled the sample cup at one of the urinals and placed it in the two way divider to the lab and pressed it through. Washing my hands at the sink I hoped to see another patient come through, but no luck.

Still... Kinda funny.

Anyone else have an experience like this?

Yes, but I just went into a stall, sat down, and collected the sample, flushed, and took the sample to the lab.

No big deal at all. Completely private. Nobody knew I peed, not pood.

Nothing like when I was in the army.

They would wake up the whole company and we went down to the Day room in our briefs. Four five lines of 20 to 25 guys. Walk up pull your underwear down, pee in a cup, pull your underwear back up, put the lid on and write your name on it

I have had to give a urine sample when I get my DOT physical for a commercial license. Last couple times I went to a chiropractor office for the physical as they were the cheapest. I was sent to a common restroom that the whole building uses to per in a cup. The chiropractor office did not have it's own bathroom. I just stood at the urinal, peed into cup and put lid on.
