Having given the question alot of thought, I think one can divide people into three classes when it comes to enemas.
In the first class, are the true Klismo’s, who are quite comfortable with their preference, and feel no guilt about it. It is just another human behavior. They may not discuss it openly, as society would still look askance, but they are comfortable with it, and are probably most of the people on a site are in this category.
The second group, are what I call the closet Klismo’s - who are less open in their acceptance, or maybe even in denial as to the sexual gratification to be obtained from enemas - from taking to talking, but also understand the sexual arousal, albeit feeling guilty about it. Key point is that they are still in the closet, although they will engineer an enema situation, either giving or getting, whenever possible. Both myself and my spouse, as a couple are probably in this category, although I personally regard myself as a KLismophile, at least on this site. Many of those who advocate enemas for health and “cleanliness” reasons, are possibly in this category.
The remaining group find the subject unpleasant, and the process as well, but acccept it for medical reasons, as they would any other invasive or embarrassing procedure.
I have no idea what the distribution amongst the groups is, other than to say that I suspect that there are more in groups one and two than we suspect, and that enemas are still in frequent use, clinically and otherwise.
Thoughts anyone? It is probably part of my academic mind seeking to categorize as a first step to understanding.
