Have you ever hung up an enema bag thinking the next few minutes will be nice and relaxing – only to experience such terrible cramps that you wondered, why am I putting myself through this? I used a tablespoon of sea salt in 1500ml of warm water, which usually makes for a comfortable cleanse.
Maybe it's because I've been fighting a nasty head cold for the past two days, chugging cough meds and my insides were feeling so bloated. So I skipped work today, sent my husband out the door and did what a naturopathic doctor would recommend: flush out the "toxins" with an saltwater enema. LOL! It flushed alright, did it ever! But if this had been the first time taking an enema, I'm not sure I'd want to do it again. Despite all the tricks I've learned to reduce the cramps, retain solution, etc., this enema was definitely not made in heaven!
